It's like what Dooku says to Ventress when he meets her in the 2003 Clone Wars cartoon. "You wear the trappings of the Sith. You fight like the Sith. But this can be imitated however." It's very reasonable for the Jedi to meet and interact with a Sith and deny it was one. Even if the Sith says bluntly "Hey guys, I'm a Sith."

I think that we won’t see an actual Sith (yet), but someone like Ventress or the Inquisitors: an aspiring Sith, neither official master or apprentice, hence “acolyte.” Secretly, the Sith Master might already be tutoring them, but to the Jedi, they will be just a dark sider who maybe got a bit of Sith teachings via some artifact, e.g. an old holocron

The most interesting thing about people trying to gauge who the new sithes by basing it off of the old sit that we know is that everyone is still using legends as reference material. For comparison, while they both share the same name and did overall very similar things, the Darth Bane from Legends looks an acts completely nothing like the Canon version. We eventually got what Mark Hamill in the Clone Wars. So it could be plagus but plagus might be a human and not be a Munn anymore in cannon. I think we have to put that into perspective, especially with the rule that I agree with with channel, which is that TV and movies override any sort of comic books, books or reference material.

But deep down, I would love it if we do get Darth Tenebrous and Darth Plagueis. Remember, Leslie Headlend has mentioned that way may material from Legends brought into canon. Where better to start than with the Sith.

If a Sith does appear in the Acolyte, then all Jedi who have seen him or her need to die. Even the Jedi who hear about it need to die. Remember, Mundi said in The Phantom Menace that there hadn't been a Sith in over 1,000 years.

Acolytes are force sensitives who are loyal to the Sith. I think the Apprentice is killed early and the Acolytes compete for the right to be the next Apprentice by assassinating Jedi. Imperial Inquisitors are Acolytes. If either Vader or Palpatine died the Inquisitors would compete to be Apprentice.

I personally think Mae is a young plagueis who causes trouble for the Jedi and later seasons show her taking in Palpatine and teaching him the ways of the dark side

I like to think a Jedi is behind the killings. They are killing fellow Jedi to try and lure a Sith Lord out of hiding. They need someone to let them be an Apprentice to.

I think they’ll canonize Darth Bane as the person that originated the Rule of Two but the influence of that could be from Revan and Malak.

I *hate* this idea that all tension is gone when telling a story about a character who we know doesn't die in said story. There are *SO* many other kinds of tension than just "will this character die" 🙄. As for the whole idea that the Jedi were convinced that the Sith were extinct; they were also well aware of the Rule of Two, so I think that definitely creates plenty of wiggle room. At the very least; they're well aware that the Sith lived on (in secret, no less) after the rest of their order was obliterated.

We can still expand the galaxy with new characters while still seeing familiar ones. The Acolyte isn't going to suddenly stop being the first liveaction show outside the Skywalker Saga just because we spend some time with preexisting characters when it absolutely makes sense for them to be there. To act like it will is a little closed minded and short sighted. Say Yoda has a supporting role in this series (just as an example), he appears in a couple of scenes across a few of the episodes but the focus and emotional core remains with the new cast. That is still expanding the franchise in a major way. While I do hope the show is mostly new, a bit of familiarity isn't going to kill the show's significance. I personally have no skin in the game as to who is holding the red lightsaber. If it turns out to be Tenebrous or Plagueis, I will be pysched but I'm just as fine if it is a brand new Sith character. But I'm also not definitely say it is a Sith because yeah, you don't need to be a Sith to bleed a kyber crystal and make a red lightsaber. I'm going into Legends here and obviously kyber bleeding wasn't a thing then but there were numerous dark side Force users who had red lightsabers prior to The Phantom Menace and the Jedi aren't going to see a red blade and react as the fandom are and go "Oh that must be a Sith right?" because they would know that as well. What made Maul stand out to Qui-Gon wasn't the red lightsaber, it was Maul's skill with it. He matched the proficiency of a Jedi with the weapon, something Qui-Gon believed was only achievable by a Sith Lord. I'm just really hoping we don't get a story where the Jedi hide an encounter with the Sith. Wanting that IS ragging on the Jedi too much and respectfully, sounds like projecting. So many stories criticise the Jedi and highlight their flaws and shortcomings and I'm not opposed to challenging them as characters and highlighting their flaws from time to time but that feels like all Star Wars has been doing for a good few years now and not balancing it with showing us the good that the Jedi do in spite of their flaws. I believe that George was trying to convey in the prequels. That people or groups like the Jedi Order can still be good while also being imperfect, a nuance that sadly is often lost on the fandom. There's now a rush to vilify the Jedi within the fandom at every turn. I am very excited for this series but it needs to be very careful in how it portrays the Jedi so I sincerelt hope they won't go "Ooh the Jedi covered this up, look how bad they are" in this. That may not be the intention of Leslye and the writers because I have faith in how she will approach this storybut that is how that will read with people watching it. Too many in the fandom that the Jedi *deserved* Order 66 and that's something I strongly think Star Wars needs to address. The fall of the Jedi is a tragedy. It was always intended to be a tragedy and SW desperately needs to remind people of that. It's concerning that this franchise will humanise Imperials and those who would oppress and subjugate the galaxy and crush innocents under their boot, but not the victims of a genocide and a conspiracy to wipe them out, which the Jedi are, whether their institution lost their way or not. It's long past time they showed them as such.

If it’s an actual Sith, it has to be Tenebrous. Unless he had an apprentice before Plagueis. There’s also the chance that it could be a Maul type character who was trained in the dark side but was only seen as an assassin by Plagueis and Sideous. I don’t like the idea of the Jedi lying about the Sith being gone. It makes the Jedi look worse and cheapens the Sith Grand plan. Tenebrous and Plagueis hid in plain sight and killed Jedi without being discovered. It makes for a better storytelling.

I think it's important to remember that me saying "the Sith have been gone for 1,000 years." is like the last Sith being seen in the year 1024... that's crazy. Aaalmost like saying there are secretly still Roman centurions running around. *Like, I guess I wouldn't blame someone for not believing that
