The way he threw Katherine away when she went into battle while pregnant and fought off an invasion, then delivered a trophy of their enemy to Henry as proof that the guy was fucking dead. Like, Henry was lucky to have her. Also, when she served as Spain's ambassador, Henry VII expected her to be easily manipulated, but she was like 'lol no' and was his political match. Probably because in the 14 th century. English was not as common as you’d think. There were several dialects and languages used in England including, Latin, Cornish, and English.
@chloebaker31514 жыл бұрын
Jaimi Cottrill Cathrine of Aragon was born at the tail end of the 15th century (1485) and first became married at the very beginning of the 16th (1501/1509) meaning English was pretty much the only language spoken in England (the kinks ironed out in the 1550s) so although you were right in thinking English was new in the 14th century, it is a mystery as to why she didn’t know English by the time she was married the first time. There is no guarantee it stayed this was as she most likely became at least sort of fluent by the time she died in 1536, especially as a royal and noble.

13:45 The executioner from Calais, France was indeed the master of his craft, both technically and psychologically. When Anne was kneeling down next to the chopping block, blindfolded, the swordsman shouted in French: give me my sword! In reality he already had the sword in his hands and he dealt a swift and clean blow, ending Anne's life. The idea was to catch the queen unawares and to kill her as quickly, painlessly and as stress-free as possible.

I still can't believe how many wives he had. It's insane how polygamy was allowed back then. This was a really good video. I always enjoy knowing more about these ancient kings and queens from back in the day. Your voice is perfect for narrating these types of videos. I felt like I was watching a documentary, in a good way. I'm looking forward to watching the next parts. Keep it up! 😁

Honestly after learning more about Mary’s life story it’s no wonder she went a little murdery. Her life was very heartbreaking and traumatic. It’s so ironic that henry blamed his wives for not being able to give him a son meanwhile it was his own damn fault😂 He was also dumb as hell bc not only was Catherine’s blood bluer than ink, she was capable, competent, well connected, ignored his affairs and oh yea WON HER BATTLE WHILE PREGNANT. And gave her husband the credit for it while his sorry ass lost his!

Anne Boleyn was an Intelligent woman who fought for what she believed in. Anne was a big supporter for the Protestant Remformation. She was a very religious woman so I doubt she left his letters unopened to lead him on. But also if the king breaks away from the church and is demanding your hand, you obviously cant say no. Makes me a wee upset she doesn't get the credit she deserves for the breaking of the church. Jane Seymour had much respect for Catherine of Aargon and worked under her. Jane had probably resented Anne, who btw was her second cousin, for dethroning Catherine. Jane Seymour is not as Sumbissive as people think. I think Jane just knew how to play the game. I quite admire Jane for that but if she really is actually like how Henry think she is then all the respect I have for is kinda going down the drain. Also when Henry reconnected with Mary he made her denounce her mother and say that she is a Basterd and other stuff to get a place back in court or else her loved ones and herself would be executed.

No one can know how old Anne was. These videos constantly state ages as if fact. It makes more sense for her to have been 32 when she died. But letters after her death state her being in her 20s when she died. It's a little thing but it bothers me and if they can just decide this is fact what else are they saying?
@uniquesongstress4 жыл бұрын
Didn't Catherine Parr mention Ann being in her 20's when she died?
@KL-ki8db Жыл бұрын
I think it makes more sense for her to been born 1501 compared to 1507 as I see the age difference between Anne and Jane being another reason Henry is trying to rid Anne.

Henry didn't love Jane, or any of them. He loves the idea of Jane, because she didn't live long enough to piss him off, and she died giving birth to his long awaited son, while taking Mary and Elizabeth for granted.

if Henry was sure Anne Boleyn was guilty of all the accusations, why did he change her sentence for beheading, even hiring a skilled french swordsman to do the job? I guess he knew she was innocent but just didn't want to deal with the troubles of divorce again
