He was. But thanks to the audio plays (and him now being in great stories) Colin Baker has topped a number of "best doctor" polls and is the current honorary president of the Doctor Who appreciation society- a position previously held by Jon Pertwee and Nicholas Courtney. So it's good to see him finally get the recognition he deserves!

I’ve heard that the BigFinish audiobooks with the Six Doctor really helped round out his character/made him more likable… Additionally, there’s even an Unbound Doctor audiobook series where Four makes the choice to connect the wires to destroy the Dalek nursery at their very beginning and then ultimately (after losing Sarah Jane and Harry to adult Daleks shooting them) has to regenerate into a War Doctor with some help from Gallifrey (and Karn I think) and this Unbound War Doctor is actually Colin Baker’s incarnation…

No one has to convince you. The fact it ran for 26 years and words like 'Tardis' and 'Dalek' are known even by non fans is proof enough. Not to mention that feeble, imitation series you love, wouldn't even exist without it, speaks for itself. Now you can deny those facts but doing so would make you appear a bit simple. Mind you, you think Classic Who is unwatchable so you have already given that impression..
