I think the reason we like the skid factory so much isn't just the high quality builds or amazing knowledge that Al shares each episode, I think its because of how "pure" their builds feel, not in the keeping a build all to one manufacturer or country, but how whole the car still is, I can go find builds of just about any car I can think of on youtube, but they usually involve cutting all sorts of stuff out of the way and crazy expensive parts and equipment for getting the job done, I think thats what makes the skid factory amazing, the fact that everything they do seems like I could go do it myself probably with allot more effort, but without spending 10s of thousands on specialist equipment, and the end results are still special.

You mentioned in your 1st episode about the VL's having radiator problems. That was from a baffle coming loose and blocking the flow to the water pump. Also something to remember is that the thermostat housing is higher than the radiator so they get an air pocket at the thermostat, so jack the front of the car up till the radiator is higher when filling the cooling system. When they 1st came out most suffered a drive-line vibration due to incorrect phasing of the tail shaft in the C.V. joint. While most were done under a service recall a lot weren't. They were a bit of a bugger to fix, probably because the same num-nuts who messed up the phasing also put the cir-clip on back-wards ( they are the type without holes and are actually tapered and the long end needs to be away from the bearing ) . Do yourself a favor, get a new clip and center punch the opposite side a few times and it will come off easily.
