What is your skin care routine? 🤔

In the morning I use micellar water, 2 essences, the needleless serum from Drmtlgy, Timeless Vit C, a moisturizer and sunscreen. At night I cleanse, use my retinal and moisturizer. I have been dermarolling about twice a week at night. I’m adding a exfoliater soon. I just ordered one from Drmtlgy. I’m going to take the weekend off from retinal and just moisturize.

Your ‘naked’ skin is stunning, absolutely stunning. If I had your skin I wouldn’t be wearing anything but moisturiser then posing like a supermodel all day. This alone, (apart from your charming personality) is reason enough to trust your advice and recommendations

Another fabulous retinaldehyde product is the Moonlight serum by Maelove. It is only $36.95 and saved my skin when I realized I could not use tretinoin. Plus I love to support the company because they keep their fabulous products relatively less expensive!

Hi Laura, I have combo skin that is also sensitive like yours, but did not have severe acne when I was younger; although I did have breakouts. Now I am still sensitive & when I saw this video, I smiled because I've never heard of this before, but along the way, I've developed my own similar routine, usually a 3 day rotation, but if it is feeling sensitive, I'll take 2 or even 3 days off then start with a very light exfoliator again, like BHA from Paula's Choice calm line. It seemed like when I did the recommended exfoliant + retinol, that was just too much in one day, so I've always alternated products & go with how my skin feels & looks. Thanks for bringing this technique to our attention & offering all of these wonderful options!

Wow this was one of the most informative videos about skin care I have ever seen. I really like what you said about what works for you. Having drier skin a thicker moisturizer at night works for me so I can put in those things while learning from you and others the appropriate skin cycle thank you so much Laura Rae

I’ve been doing this ever since I started my skincare routine due to my sensitive skin. I do like using a toner or an essence everyday on damp skin for my dry, sensitive skin. Vitamin C is a must everyday but I do like to include Resveratrol or another antioxidant. I use a Poly Hydroxy Acid for my sensitive skin since it has a larger molecule size then AHA’s and BHA’s and doesn’t penetrate deep into the skin so less irritation. I use the one from The Inkey List. I also love anything that includes centella or artemisia which really helps to soothe and calm redness! Your skin looks absolutely amazing Laura! Have a wonderful weekend! 💕

I've had to cut down to 2 nights per week for retinol. I use Bioderma Atoderm cleanser twice at night for a double cleanse. Takes everything off, is not greasy or drying. DHC makes a wonderful night moisturizer I use in winter months.

I treat my skin as needed and have done so for many years, something my mom has always done and taught me. She has the most beautiful glow ever..she hardly ever wears any makeup. She’s turning 72 tomorrow. TikTok has made this very popular nowadays. I tend to follow the 7 skin method and that has been a game changer in my opinion. I have been using tretinoin since July and my skin is amazing. I do use the Ordinary BHA-AHA exfoliatiant (red in the bottle). I also love using copper peptides ( i tend to use it alone without tretinoin).

I haven’t been giving my skin a night off from my Avene retinal and I think that’s a really good idea. I’m going to start tonight. BTW I’m going to switch from Avene to Maelove Moonlight. I don’t like the consistency of the Avene.

Hi Laura Rae! I appreciate all the hard work & research you do in finding us incredible products! I've been doing a form of skin cycling for about 5 years. I have extremely sensitive skin, that often has surface dehydration. I use a retinol product every Monday, Wednesday & Friday. I use Paula's Choice BHA once a week. Then let my skin "rest & repair" 3 nights a week. ❤💕

Just received the Olay exfoliation a few days ago and after one use ,, love it. Ordered the Missha at your suggestion and love it also after two weeks of trying . Will float btw that and the Canmake …think that will always remain in my routine. The urea under eye will never disappear from my routine. I similarly follow the rotation of products usually two days with retinol is enough for my skin and then I go into two days of just moisturize. Now with hopefully cooler temps here in FL soon, the routine may change. I think , not sure, on your recommendation I purchased the Purito centella unscented recovery cream…. After one week of using , that will be a top favorite So delighted with your videos and the wonderful suggestions for mature skin…can’t thank you enough.

I just bought the Pyunkamg Yul moisturizer from your link! I had to turn on the furnace this week, and my skin feels so dry. My routine is Vitamin C, Lactic Acid, moisturizer and sun screen for AM. In the PM it’s cleansing oil and then cleanser, tretinoin and moisturizer. A couple of nights a week I’ll use the gentle exfoliating powder rather than tretinoin. Thanks for the great recommendations! Your skin looks lovely in this video!

Just found your channel and I’ve been watching and buying so many of your recs. I’m a retired high school and college journalism teacher. So cool you are a teacher also! I thought I was using Retin A for years - my doctor got it in Mexico. After researching the ingredients it wasn’t Retin a. So I’m trying the real stuff .025. I peel a bit but only using it two nights a week which my dermatologist says won’t do much good. Why did you stop tretinoin?
@LauraRaeBeauty
@LauraRaeBeauty Жыл бұрын
I used Retin A off and on since I was a teenager for acne. As I have gotten older my skin has become very sensitive. Retin A was just too much for my skin. It was always red and dry. When I started pulling back a little and using ingredients that were less harsh my skin looked so much healthier.❤️

Hi Laura- great video with lots of recommendations I’d like to try! I’ve been doing this to a degree intuitively for years (or maybe all of those years of subscribing to allure and others magazines before KZbin put this into my brain!). I ordered the Olay vitamin c peel on prime day. It was a great deal. I’ve only used it once, but wow, was my skin soft afterwards! I really like it and it is easy to use and fast. I prefer the maelove vitamin c over the timeless. The timeless has that yucky hot dog water smell to me and it has been relegated to my arms and chest. Have a great day 😊

I am in my 7 or 8 Moonlight bottle from Maelove once is gone I am going for Avene. Bifida 70% came to stay. Bifida 70% has delivered results for me as the original Nerium did ( the current products do not performe as the originals, period. The original Nerium lotions were the only TWO products on my skin for most of my 50's.) Korean essences are fantastic I use the group you presented today and maybe 4 more😬😆... or 5 🤪. Love your videos.

Oh wow, this is SO timely for me! I "worked up" to using retinaldahyde about 4-5 nights a week *and* sunscreen DAILY - and within a week or two, I had THREE huge, painful, deep, multi-layered pimples on my face and I almost never get any pimples at all, and haven't for years and years. They took almost two weeks to heal. I'd gently squeeze to empty the whitehead, then the next morning, another layer or oil would have risen to the surface, another whitehead, gently squeeze, repeat for days! Horrible. I've been only using a plain moisturizer for about a week now, letting my skin calm down. I'll try this plan when I start back with the full routine. I suspect sunscreen is a part of these huge, deep, painful pimples -- because before I started daily sunscreen, never had them, either. Any suggestions for sunscreens that don't cause pimples? I've used Bliss sunscreen, Paula's Choice, Ulta MD -- and recently the Hero one that allegedly doesn't cause acne.

I can't really find one. I'm 53 with combo to dry skin. I kind of feel like I don't see a difference with anything. I have gone from using just the basics to throwing everything on my face.I wish I had someone to tell me a routine to try. I've used and have everything you just mentioned.. Everytime I use a retinol or tret I never see a difference.. Any recommendations?
@meckismicki
@meckismicki Жыл бұрын
I recommend talking to your dermatologist, but it takes months to see a difference. Starting with .025% then .05% then .01% as your skin tolerates. Your skin will look worse before it looks better. When you start out it's going to purge & peel all the damage you have done over the years. If you can't tolerate Retin A you may have to start with a moisturizer then Retin A on top or take a step down to a retinal product. Check Dr Dray on KZbin for substitutions. What ever works for you don't expect instant results. You must keep up your routine & it could be a year before you see a significant difference.
