The thing is even destroying a marker isn't enough to wipe out their influence, Strauss wasnt on Aegis VII or the Ishimura, he came into contact with a single shard of the marker Isaac destroyed there and even in its shattered state it was enough to begin warping his perception

Destroying a Marker is harder than people think cuz they think a Nuke can do the job but the Black Marker survived the impact that wiped the surface of the planet which is multi continental compared to a nuke which is city level or tsar Bomba is baseline mountain level it would take every nuke every made to even have a chance tbh. But we see the Red Marker took a continent being dropped on it like a meteor which almost destroyed the planet yet a shard still survived. The shard alone was said it needed to be thrown into the heart of Star to destroy it which they used the shock point drive instead so it’s debatable if even a nuke can destroy a shard but at best it can yet it ain’t doing shit to a full Marker. The only markers we can blast apart are the incomplete small red markers in the multiplayer which probably doesn’t count tbh
