I saw these guys around 2006 at the cockpit in Leeds, UK. the leader singer took a polaroid of me and my mate and gave it to us, still got it somewhere. the venue no longer exists unfortunately, but memories live on forever. blessed to have experienced the live music scene of the 00s, some truly great bands and experiences.

How is this song not better known?! Or the band for that matter?! As an American, it seems like The Sleepy Jackson never took off here. Empire of the Sun did though.

Sleepy Jackson were well known in the Aussie music scene but it wasn't until Empire of The Sun that they landed global success.

@4allofus821 well shame on the rest of us. I think it's only in the past decade that we (the US) started realizing that there was something special going on in the music scene in Australia. Bands like Tame Impala come to mind for me. And I'm only talking about a specific genre/subgenre. You got any recommendations?
This a video is haunting like a dream when you fall in love with somebody in a dream and they you wake and they are gone, but you left with the feeling of a lost love for the rest of the day. A Luke Steele Masterpiece.

I love this song. Popping by from 2024. I'd never forgotten this song. It's just there is a section in shining light by Ash that sounds very much like the start of this song. I'd never realised before.

Song has a bit of Flaming Lips mixed with All Things Must Pass era of George Harrison all over it. I actually prefer this video to the one with angels. Just a stranger feel to it that works perfectly with the song. Lovers is a underrated album, some great songs on it like Good Dancers, Rain Falls for Wind, Come To This, Morning Rain, This Day and many others. Second album isn't quite as good but still worth a list. Woman nurse in this is actually played by Rita Kalnejas actually went on to write Ghost Rider with Nicholas Cage and excellent film Babyteeth. The actor Dan Wyllie was in Chopper (the guy who ends up puking for real in the film is Wyllie) and Romper Stomper. He's got some excellent dance moves too. Also directred by Nash Edgerton (yes brother of Joel), who's done some great work like the excellent TV show Mr Inbetween.
