Seen it called slim beauty on an Australia fishing dvd from 2011, amazing that its travelled forward in time and all the way over the pond to be named after you.

LOL best comment ever 👍. It sounded pretty good even if it's made up bs 😂.

absolute favorite..been using it for over 10 years and it has never failed..only difference is that I always double up the last 50-60cm of braid with a 6 turn surgeons knot
@enterthedragon59795 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy this guy claims to have invented it and you have used it for 10 years. Do you think he was the creator?
@mickpaton94735 жыл бұрын
Just wondering why the double 50-60 cm on the braid? To add to strength?
@mickpaton94735 жыл бұрын
And how does it go going through the baitcaster and guides withbur improvement ?
@SaltwaterExperience9 жыл бұрын
+HotRodJax I use a swivel to reduce or eliminate line twists. This knot will create a very strong connection but will not reduce line twists
@markrigg66234 жыл бұрын
This is for lure fishing where we have to wind the leader connection through the guides! Swivel is for shorter trace bait fishing.

Works great 200lb braid to 130lb fluorocarbon for big tuna also now known as the GT knot !
@Alexlee-si4zc3 жыл бұрын
saw it in hawaii five 0. but in that it came across as a lot older knot. how long ago did you come up with it?
@DrFrankLanzisera4 жыл бұрын
Great knot which has never failed me tarpon flyfishing.

Im in 🇦🇺 and use this knot for all my leader to braid . Thanks it works well
@Fireblade9184 жыл бұрын
You can call it what you like, this is a tapered shock leader knot i was tying here in UK 40 years ago.
@evertalm77763 жыл бұрын
It isn't going smoothly through the rings at all and is not suitable for lighter rods with small rings. It actually grabs into the rings and gets stuck.

Excellent thanks.

does this void the need of a swivel?

Where would you put a sinker with this knot?
@jonnywaselectric7 жыл бұрын
depends where you were fishing, If it was a snaggy bottom I always run the sinker directly above the hook, otherwise I would run it above the leader on the main line provided the leader was only about 1m or 3 feet long

Hi Tom! I could use this knot in a monofilament to fluorocarbon connection if I not use braid?
@noaddedsugar_4 жыл бұрын
how do you think this hold up against gt knot. similar application but i dont know which is better? what do you think this application for slow jigging?
@keales95649 жыл бұрын
Do you think this is just as good as a FG Knot? Or better? Braid to a heavy mono leader.
@SaltwaterExperience9 жыл бұрын
Roy Matsuyama I think it is different. The FG knot is a superb knot that is ultra small and goes through the guides easily. I do not use an FG knot in this application. I tend to use that knot for braid to fluorocarbon while I use the Slim Beauty for tarpon fly leaders where I need to go from 12 or 20 lb tippet to 60-80 lb shock leader. Both are good knots that I use regularly for different applications

Just use the GT knot.

A bit gob smacked when you said how you named the knot. Youve picked a completely and directly mis leading name. Not real smart.
