I don't even remember what prompted me to watch this back then. I wasn't even aware of Mahou Shoujo Madoka's existence. What captivated me was the drama, the psychological horror. The girls want their wish to be fulfilled, but at the end of the day, it's a lose-lose situation for them.

That makes sense. I watched it because it was a card game anime and stayed for the same reason you did. The idea of the wish and the consequences of it

Why card fight vanguard not Yu-Gi-Oh! ?
@NerdsfeedАй бұрын
From what I unserstand of Cardfight vanguard overdress it focuses on making one card spot stronger as the turns go by. Wixoss does the same in that regard. Yu-Gi-Oh focuses on the whole deck working in sync. Sure it can have stronger cards but it takes longer to summon the strongest in the deck usually. Then you also have decks like Six Samurai that focus on every card helping eachother which isn't how Wixoss worked in the show

@@Nerdsfeed ok thanks for the info. but you know Gasai ok think it's more fun maybe to say also Yu-Gi-Oh! the more commonly known card game.

if you felt like the anime was trying to make you support the incest relationship, then it 100% a you problem. every single moment the incest plotline came up, it always get portrayed as wrong. exploring an idea is not an endorsement of said idea. this is why understanding context is very important to understanding fiction.

No lol. It was used as a reason for us to feel bad for her, because of her constant fear of her feelings not being reciprocated, and people making fun of her and more important to her, her brother, if they learn the truth. Which they do, that's what happens, and those people doing the making fun of are portrayed as the bad guys, hurting one of our main characters, and that we shouldn't like them because of it. You can't tell me that I don't understand context, because you interpreted something different, than what I did. Thats goofy. Her incest is wincest mindset, is seen as true love, that she has for her brother. We see the struggles she goes through because of it, but when it comes to our main heroes, they never condemn those feelings of hers. Her two best friends, when they find out the truth, never tell her that it's wrong. The main heroes, who's opinions matter most, and have the most influence over the matter. Only people that speak against it, do so hatefully, and are random jerks from school who have little bearing on the plot itself. The story doesn't denounce it as entirely wrong, it denounces it as wrong societally, but not morally. In the end, her feelings are used as something worth fighting for, instead of fighting against. It may be different in the subbed version, but I watched dubbed, and that's how its portrayed.

@@Nerdsfeed the show does not ever show the incest route a desirable outcome, even yuzuki herself is disgusted by her own feelings. next, while her friends don't condemn her feeling, they're visually shown to be against the idea, and with them never encouraging her to pursue her relationship clearly mean they're not on board with the idea. honestly having the mindset of they didn't outright condemn something means they support it, is a terrible mindset because it remove nuanced from the discussion, which is always a bad thing. also having a character openly confess their thoughts on a subject, simply to make their stance be clear as day to the viewers is bad writing and implies the viewer is stupid. I also watch the dub version, and if you came out of the show thinking the incest was only societally wrong, and felt it was something worth fighting for, then that a you problem, because I never got that impression. or maybe you just came into the show from a bad angle. the main genre of the show is clearly psychological, and the main appeal of this genre is either to mess with the viewer mind, or simply explore the minds of the characters. which, I say the anime did a great job on both aspect. so, it a perfect example of what to expect from a psychological anime.

@@elijahmiller323 she wasn't disgusted by the feelings themselves. She was disgusted by how they would be viewed by others. She only hated the feelings whenever they didn't seem like they would, or could, ever be reciprocated. The moment she had a real chance for her wish to be with him come true, she even abandoned her friends, in order to pour everything she is and has into making it so. "Then its a you problem" is not an argument lmbo please stop trying to use it. Just because you had a different impression doesn't mean you're 100% right and no other possibilities exist. I'm gonna paraphrase here so I don't have to retype your comment, but you saying that since they don't actively encourage it as far as you can remember, that means they were against it, is no different than me saying that since they didn't condemn it, they weren't entirely against it. Except, mine is an absolute, and would have been indisputable. Wheras yours is not, its an implied, which makes it up for interpretation. Don't talk down to me about what psychological shows are, I know exactly what they are, consist of, and the myriad of writing styles used to accomplish them. I could do an episode by episode breakdown and most likely prove what I said within this video as unscripted as it may have been.

@@Nerdsfeed I disagree with this take. If this was trying to portray incest in some sort of positive light, I’m pretty sure Yuzuki would’ve gotten exactly what she wanted with little or at least negligible downsides. Instead, many (if not all) characters that become aware of her motivations are at least visibly uncomfortable with the idea, and the girl is ultimately punished by the narrative for her pursuits. I think you’re mistaking a show trying to get an audience to sympathize with a character for a show simply having a flawed character, or rather a protagonist with sinful desires or goals. Not all protagonists need to be role models. If anything, I always felt that the story portrayed Yuzuki’s goal as more negative than anything else, considering her pursuit of it is the cause of most of her strife, and ultimately ends up alienating her from her friends.
