Wow , man your standards are really high . Can you give some examples of those drummers who you really do admire ? Genuine question . I'll be Sixteen in January. Play pretty basic guitar electro / acoustic and even basic -er keyboards (!) . I love every deluded minute of it . I believe getting to learn an imstrument , at the humblest of levels , can save thousands and thousands of dollars ( or in moi case British Pound notes ) on exorbitent psychotherapists . No jokes intended ( for once in my life , I'm actually almost being Sincere - what is that all about ) and you can pick up a cheap acoustic for 30 or 40 quid . I got an amazng Yamaha keyboard called a portable grand , full keyboard of piano notes . Actually its missing an octave at top ( Puh - leeze , like I care ) and I got for a ridiculous 15 quid - it cost more for the taxi home . This was more than the bargain of one of my precious lives . I dont know if the owner knew what he was doing , he just seemed to be glad to have more space (!) Or maybe it was a religious day of being nice to nervous over excited teens . I swear that beautiful keyboard sitting in front of it now with my magical ( no other over used word will do , in this particular example ) my magical ( OK ) Play Beatles , Eagles , Abba and Tom Petty ( pour example ) using just 4 chords ( pretty much ) They are like winning the Lottery , well thats what it felt like a moi . So saddos of the world ( including the twit at the Samsung keyboard ) unite you have nothing to lose but your nervous systems and core beliefs . Shee-it , goddam , I've gone waaaay of Topic . Point I was gonna try to make is that drummimg is very hard to even * fake * yr way thru . So that 19 yr old drummer is like a minor deity to me ( and well ...me , I guess ) Anyway love to you and yours Hi from London England ❤❤😂😂🎉❤

Finally, I got to see him in Albuquerque, New Mexico my hometown. Honestly the best live performance ever. Thank you Robert for the decades of music, for the love hope and honesty it has brought to my life. You have given me comfort in times i felt alone and broken down by chronic illness. You're the best and us the fans have been waiting patiently for years. Just know that your music is beautifully timeless and you have saved me and many others when alone. YEah I love how the arrangement changes with each verse. Even tho it doesn't sound like it , it reminds me of how Rush does that in Mystic Rhythems - the bass line you refer to with the nice chiming guitar on top.. same chords but different arrangement in 2nd verse and so on. But jimmy is dead, d'arcy is pretty much a wasted junkie, and james iha is doing solo albums. I agree that this isn't the line-up I've known and loved but this is the first pumpkins sounding album I've heard in nearly a decade and I love it. So let him be the pumpkins, no one else is stepping up.

Well you know, one does not have to like everything a band produces. This is not Soviet Russia. Its not about the name either, its about the music. And in the 7 year break up of the band I believe there were some creative changes that effected the quality of music that they are releasing now. And I know I am not alone in not liking the new music. There are many die hard fans out there dedicated to the original Pumpkins like I am. I think it has the acoustic feel of 'Disarm' from 'Siamese Dream', mixed with some of the more loud songs such as 'Quiet' and other various songs from 'Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness' album, but there seems to be a different stage of song compared to the old Smashing Pumpkins. But then again, only Billy is the original member, so you can expect a different style.

I agree with you for the most part, i think this is great album but it does feel like a warm up. I like to imagine this is a slightly better gish for SP3(sp1 was original line up, sp2 2007-2009 when it was just billy and jimmy) I look forword to what the fuutre entails, Billy was talking about how the next project is most likely going to be a double album also for a more depressing thing to look forword to is there will be a single about the singer of the frogs who died recently coming up

There definitely is something about the production and the songwriting that keeps this album from having songs that make me think that this will go down in history. However, after some so-so albums and a general giving up on Billy and the Smashing Pumpkins, I truly believe that this is a solid album, a return to form, and a part of the Smashing Pumpkins discography that doesn't make me confused or disappointed.
