@jemperor642
@jemperor642 7 ай бұрын
There are so many things I like better with DVR, but my top 3 would be; 1. The inclusion of the options tab below the timeline. So easy to isolate a clip and jump over to fusion and add/make transform elements, animations, intro & outro effects, etc. 2. I like DBR's Inspector over PP's element options. With PP you have to so many plug-ins from the media basket just to do half the things found in Inspector. 3. DVR came included with all kinds of simple drag and drop transitions. I've been with PP since the old CS1-6 days and would have to create my own transitions. It wasn't until CS6 that I learned a way to save the elements of the created transitions so I wouldn't have to create them every time. These are just the top of my list and daily I'm finding the list growing more and more. Thanks to my surprise enjoyment of DVR, I'm even considering giving Affinity Photo and Design a try since they're considered alternatives to PS and Illustrator. May jump completely from the Adobe train.

Thats a very good question... It would depend on the scene and the feel you want when making transitions for gaming as to which transition you should apply. Hey man! Hows it going? I couldn't remember where you commented about the audio being messed up, but I figured some stuff out in DaVinci Resolve and I have perfect audio for KZbin now. I will be doing a video about it in a couple of weeks I think. It was your comments that helped me get looking into it and finding a way to perfect it. Thanks!

Very cool. Looking forward to it. I have tools to fix audio. The problem with the video I was referencing was a Livestream so it was pointless to even try to scrub it. Bottom line is get proper levels in pre production, set your mics with proper headroom, no peak levels. In post use the EQ, use a compressor and on your main out use limiter set to a -1 and you should never have an issue with KZbin lowering your levels. There are some settings that need to be done in Davinci as well. Setting to -14 luff's, using BS. 1770-4 meters, locking meter, using absolute scale. There are multiple things that need to be set (which can be set as a present once you do it) and your audio will be clean. If you listen to my episodes where it's just me talking my audio is clean. Livestream is a different animal.

Excellent techinque! Thanks for sharing. Your videos would be even more effective if you would ZOOM IN whenever you make a menu selection, so your viewers can see what you are doing (without squinting or stopping the video to zoom in for ourselves). Thanks!

Thanks David! I do actually have something that is making the menu selections magnified a bit, however I am editing on a larger screen size, so maybe I didnt zoom enough. You would prefer if I zoomed much further in for the menu selection? Are you watching the videos in 4k resolution?
@Lida22
@Lida22 7 ай бұрын
@@chadmullins7553 Hi, Chad! One thing we videomakers need to always keep in mind is that currently, about 2/3 of people using the internet - including KZbin - do so on a mobile device, and about 85% of those on a phone. TINY screens! I view videos on a 27" monitor, but it is impossible for the human eye to distinguish between HD and 4k on any screen smaller than 50". That being said, and to answer your first question, yes, I do think it would enhance your videos if you would zoom in closer on the menu selections. Partly, this is because (sadly) DaVinci has no way to use a "light mode" skin, and their default interface of grey font on black is very low-contrast quite difficult to distinguish - unless significantly zoomed. By the way, I thought you did a quite good job of narrating clicks and keystrokes. It is frustrating how many tutorial videos I've seen where the videomaker says, "And then you click here..." and does so in a half a second on a small item on a non-zoomed screen. Grrr. Thanks for NOT doing that! 😄

Thanks for the good tutorial! Would have been nice to see your finessing the cuts, because there's a big difference in the clip in the beginning and in the part where you apply the smooth cut. While your intro very much looks like one clips, the demo after applying the "smoothest cuts" preset still had some very obvious blur/cross disolve kind of feeling. Would've been interesting to learn how you got rid of that! :)
@chadmullins7553
@chadmullins7553 7 ай бұрын
Totally understand! However, it would really make the tutorial longer and boring if I do that. I will be doing livestreams and things in the future where I can spend more time to do such things and answer questions while doing them. So maybe keep an eye out for that if you need the visuals... When it came to finessing it, all I really did was cut a couple frames off here and there until it mashed the way I would like it to. If you have any questions about things, feel free to ask them. Or if you have something you would like to learn, you can leave that comment as well. This is still a small channel, so I am learning about the viewers and what they really want/need to learn to work on.

@@chadmullins7553 Thanks for your quick answer! I understand that you want to keep the video as concise as possible, but to me it feels like the most important step of the thing that you wanted to teach us is actually missing from the tutorial :D If it's just a matter of shifting the frames around a bit, then that sounds reasonably easy. But I still feel that this info should have been part of the tutorial. Maybe you wouldn't have needed to show the full process for all clips, but just give a short overview for one? Just an idea, of course.
