So I've been buying snap on tools for over 20 years now so I've seen some cool things come and go. One of those cool things was the weekly 100 dollar deal. Used to be able to get some real good stuff for 100 bucks. "Inflation" aka corporate greed, put an end to that.

Just picked up that adjustable wrench set for 155 bucks off the truck. My dealer said they've been there for a year and just wanted to get rid of them. They are really high quality.

I love those wide-mouth Snap On adjustable wrenches. Glad you got your mini pliers. Mine won’t be in till mid May. At that time I can decide on the handle style. I thought the bare handles would be good, but I’m having second thoughts. What was behind your handle decision?

Howdy Doc! I ended up going with the non-dip for three main reasons: 1. I already had the 4" slip joints in the dip 2. From an EDC point of view, I think the non dip will slide in and out of my pocket / man purse more easily 3. Also from an EDC point of view, I'm likely to carry several of these at a time (likely flank jaw + talon grip), and the non dip saves me on space & weight Looking forward to your video when you get them in!

Bahco doesn’t nickel finish the wrench like snap on. I work with chems and they destroy most tool finish if it isn’t chrome or better

Snap on is nickel finish. It’s different from chrome. Bahco does have chrome version and the chrome is dog shit. Buddy has it at work. Euro tools company can’t chrome for shit. That’s why they use that mate chrome and that shit rust fast with chems. My poor knipex pliers look 20 years old after 4years of use

@@HeyDerFolks I got two sizes that were bad. To warranty, you have to send the whole set in. I replaced them but now I don’t use them because I don’t want to damage them. I wanted to like them.

Why not get the reversible ratcheting wrenches? I got mine for a repo deal and pick them up for $200 bucks for the set since my old dealer just wanted what the guy owed him.

Good question, I didn’t mention in the video but the dealer and I did talk about that. He had a set of stubby Bluepoint reversible offsets that I wanted as well, perhaps on a future trip. Ultimately I’ve never had a set of reversibles so I’m used to it / don’t mind it. I also like the fully enclosed nature of the non reversible. For me it was six of one, half dozen of the other. Rest assured, of he had a reversible set for $200, I would’ve bought those in a heartbeat!

I hoped to voice this over successfully in the video, but given this comment i'm not sure I did such a good job. My goal wasn't to compare the two directly, but rather to point out that folks will often say "You can do the same thing with X as you can with the Snap On and (1/2 | 1/3 | 1/4) the price." My view is that you cannot. Moreover, the cost of a Stanley Fatmax / Milwaukee Autolock (great tape measures, by the way) is around $20 give or take. So the incremental cost for the Snap On is $27, and you get some benefits at that price (be it promo, ease of warranty, build quality, etc.) so I am okay with paying a little more to capture that value.

For whatever reason, its harder to buy the Snap On tools than it should be (though, that might be part of the allure). I voiced over my initial experience in my first unboxing video kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5rEd2SAbLqJn5Y I first called Snap On to see if they'd give me the name / number of a truck, and they said no. Then I texted a friend who works at a local car dealership and asked if he could ask the Snap On guy that visits weekly, for his information. The dealer said yes, I messaged him and the rest is history. In general, they should not say no if you come to them, they just can't go out of there way to go to you (less they "steal" another trucks business).

Ive turned wrenched for 32 years. It blows my mind money wasted on snap on tools. Sure some are worth it but others are definitely not. Pkenty of other brands do just as good for way less. But each to their own i guess. Im glad i stayed off the tools trucks unless i really needed something.

Not sure I understand the Nike reference. I'm planning to make a video to talk through why I choose to buy Snap On. The high level comes down to; made in USA, unparalleled performance, longevity, and enjoyment. Folks are best suited to decide what tool(s) to buy with their money, and there are a lot of things I won't buy from Snap On, but where they're good, they're great, and i'm happy to pay the price.
