That Chapter

3 жыл бұрын

Lois Riess was a kindly old granny living in Minnesota, until one day she wasn't. She had enough of her husband, she wanted to gamble, and went on the run. Doing so, she would have to steal another woman's identity, and then disappear...

@@iamV10010 Yeah that's exactly why I don't believe her. I can understand depression, I truly do. I could even buy if someone said that to you after an attempt you might kill them, but then to go on and kill someone else to steal their identity? And then to be obviously planning to do it to someone else after that? We know she's capable of killing someone who didn't do any wrong to her. If there was a history of people saying her husband was awful or abusive, sure, but unless I missed it there's none of that.

Pamela Hutchinson is my deceased cousin…most of the facts are accurate some were glossed over due to time allotted for this. We were the relatives who were to meet Pam at her home in Bradenton the Saturday after she was murdered on Thursday…we lived this nightmare and although we’re thankful for the manager at Dirty Als for taking action and thankful that she has life sentences without the possibility of parole we’re deeply saddened and disturbed that the justice system would move her to Minnesota to serve her time so she could be close to family! We are forever without our Pam here in earth! Where is the justice in that? I pray that Pam and her mother…my Aunt Sharon haunts Losing Streak Lois every night! A gambling addict who wouldn’t gamble with her life and took a plea deal so SHE could live! She may be locked up but she can see her family and friends. So unfair!!!

Isn't that horrible? If she bought expensive cars and jewelry and went on exotic vacations, that would make sense but to just gamble it all away? Ludicrous. I watch the show Hoarders a lot and some of the hoarders have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars on thrift store items think they had real value. One woman inherited either $40,000 or $400,000 and totally wasted on junk. She didn't fix up her home. She didn't buy a car. She just spent it all on junk. She was addicted to shopping and hoarding just like Lois was addicted to gambling.

@@mildredpierce4506 yeah I totally understand drug addiction, as a recovering heroin addict myself it's clear how much physically addicting drugs change your brain chemistry and make you a slave to getting more of the substance to not get sick from withdrawals that make you want to die, but to be addicted to something like gambling? I just don't get the appeal, that they can piss off thousands of dollars in a day for little to no reward. Even if they win, doing heroin feels better than a lotto win, so I don't understand what "euphoric reward" in their brain makes them continue to keep gambling so foolishly

I admit to many self harm incidents, but never one thought of harming another to get money back or fund my illness. My mom and aunt were the same way. And I never actually noticed how out of control it was until many years later. Slowly, over time, they would lose their house, and everyone around them but me. My mom would call me crying for cigarettes and necessities. I would gather my kids in the car, go get what they needed and made the hour drive to their house. I figured they took care of me and took me in at a time in my life, where my real mother didn’t want me. They are gone now and I miss them everyday. I wish they had the chance to realize they needed help. You have my ultimate support and am so happy I stumbled onto your comment. -your fan from California. I got 8000 euros in 2016, my dad's insurance money after his death, spoke about it publically, had a borderline girlfriend who probably wanted me to use more of that money into her but never tried to kill or rob me :D then I had a boyfriend who had pathological lying problems and all kind of mental health issues and didnt get killed either. Its just because The States are full of crazy people, in my country people rarely do murders. People get most likely killed accidentally in a fight while being drunk and arguing with their partners but as a sober person I dont have this problem as I know my limits :) I suggest moving out of a country that lets crazy people live freely.

I have a confession to make: I'm a grammar and pronunciation pedant. However - despite this, and despite the taunting I'm undoubtedly courting - I have to say this: the past tense of the word "plead" is not "pled" - it's "pleaded". "She pleaded guilty." Please note, Mike, because you get to use this word quite a lot. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk!!

Listen I'm not saying the police are bad. They did well arresting her but when they make the public announcement after they never say "we have to thank Ben for his help in recognising the suspect it was with thier assistance we caught the criminal" yano the public do help the police a lot and some people do a better job than them. But again well done to the police who took action and caught up to this waste of oxygen
@pat5star
@pat5star 3 жыл бұрын
@Bob Trenwith Wth?! You don’t think police sometimes take credit even when it isn’t deserved? I can think of many cases but the one that stands out to me and has really always bugged me was the Unabomber case! They constantly patted themselves on the back for catching him and regularly told the public about all the man hours that went into that investigation but in reality he was only caught when the brother stepped forward. The police weren’t even close and rarely attributed the arrest to the brother. This happens all the time! That said I don’t fault police at all and i fully support them but I also can acknowledge that they frequently take credit for captures when really they were utterly lost until someone from the public helped out.
@pat5star

I was a heroin addict for over 20 year's and I deeply regret that I committed fraud during that time to get money. However, no matter how desperate or how sick I was, I would never, ever, have even considered physically harming another person. I despised myself enough. I fought hard, over & over to recover, and eventually did, thank God. This case isnt just a case of having snapped due to addiction. She was a selfish narcissist with zero empathy. 2 good people lost their lives so she could feel temporarily better throwing their money away. She deserves every bit of painful karma due her. And trust me, karma doesnt miss an address. No- addiction is not the reason she killed. Being a cold hearted b!tch was. Evil.

I agree. She coasted along on her husband's popularity, making big wads of cash disappear along the way. She defrauded his employees of thousands of their hard-earned dollars, and was never charged. She cheated her own sister out of six figures, and was never charged. Who knows what other frauds she may have committed without being charged during the three years when her husband unsuccessfully tried to get her to stop blowing his profits in casinos? Her crime spree lasted until federal authorities became involved, and that is what it took to get her behind bars. Lois did not just snap one day. She had enablers for years. Once her husband was dead, she seemed to be entirely unrestrained. I think that she would have engaged in criminal behavior even if she never gambled; she would have broken laws to get whatever in life that she wanted.
