Rod Covlin was married to Shele Danishefsky for many years. However, when backgammon started going to his head, and he started seeing new women, wouldn't Shele Danishefsky have an accident. What followed was many years of Rod Covlin's bizarre schemes.

@@Treviso100 he wrote a "confession" as his daughter on her email account. Investigators were able to show that he wrote the confession that he signed as her. The email, which he wrote, said things like "I'm sorry I killed my mom" and "it wasn't my dad, it was me." Details of this attempt to escape justice by incriminating his daughter made up at least 3 minutes of the video you commented on.

What sucks is that the grandpa was doing the same. He actually addressed Anna during the fight, talking about how he'd spent so much of his own money to keep her. That pisses me off. A sign of a narcissist, is to get through the love bombing stage very quickly, to isolate the victim from family and friends and then begin the devalue and abuse stage. Everyone should know all the red flags, before these monsters destroy your life, or take it. This personality disorder is very good at deception and intentionally target kind, empathetic people, who are easier to manipulate and control, bc they are more likely to excuse their bad behavior and believe they can help them become kinder people; you cannot and if they know you are onto their game, the abuse exculates quickly and are able to convince many you are the mentally unstable, abusive one. Some are very skilled at hiding their nasty traits, but if you know the signs, and observe how they enjoy degrading and humiliating some over trivial things, run.

I worked in a county jail, and when we received the inmate as soon as they could they would call a family member or friend and proceed to curse and threaten them, whereas you would think that they would be kind and loving since they might post their bond. That’s what this guy reminds me of, his wife is supporting him, he can come and go do whatever he wants all he has to do is help with the kids and be respectful of her. And since she loved her kids she would of supported him for however long it took for the kids to graduate and go to college, and he screwed that up. I’m so glad he didn’t get the kids, although his parents weren’t cutting him a break and kicked him out telling him that he’s no good for anything and he wasn’t getting the kids. I think he would have killed his parents to get too not the kids but their inheritance. He would have got insurance for them and thrown them off a bridge or something. He is without a doubt escalating because it was just a few days before she changed her will, she suspected something. What a waste, I hope he has to stay in protective security which is a lockdown 23 hours a day.

My mind began to think why don't these losers ever consider the option of being agreeable, caring and showing that they want what's best for their family under the circumstances (either before OR after he may or may not have killed his wife), as a means to his end ie to get what he wanted. Plotting and scheming like a crazy person as he did is never going to look good! But if he actually stopped being an a**hole for a moment, he might have had a chance of getting his kids and their money....not that I condone that result but it always astounds me how stupid these people are, like more crime and murder is going to work out for them!!

@@abarkins was just about to say the same thing... I have a friend who moved from Ontario Canada to New York city and her 375sq foot BACHELOR apartment(a bachelor for those unfamiliar is basically a big room that has the living room dining room kitchen and bdrm all in one and a sep room with your bath) is $1750!!!! I own a beautiful 3 bdrm detached home with a garage in a brand new developing subdivision and I pay less than $1200 monthly!!!!!

@@bigredswife4646 lol. Yeah its insane. The "hallway apartment" was worse than you're prob picturing. It wasn't even same size at both ends. It got narrower as you went down. The kitchen was just along the wall. Literally just designed the place to cram as many people in as possible there.

The one thing missing from Mike’s version of this story was Rod was a gambling addict, that’s why he was broke. He played online, and I believe it was Blackjack that he was addicted to. His alibi for Shelly’s murder was he was home playing either Blackjack or Backgammon online. Everything else is pretty spot on. This was on an episode of either Dateline or 20/20 that’s where I first seen it and they mentioned his online gambling which is why he was trying to get the kids and Shelly’s money.

Perhaps I didn't understand completely 🤷‍♀️, but based on the text of who was speaking, it seemed to me that it was the father who actually brought the daughter into the room. I assumed the parents just wanted to make a point, that the money 💰 he was running around with wasn't his to spend, and rightfully belonged to his children. Doesn't make it right, no one should ever bring children into adult arguments 💯.

Shambhalaubie I also could be mistaken, the grandparents totally seem to care that the dad is stealing the money from the children, they were probably at wits end and like okay. You bring the kids in here we will let them know how terrible you are. I’ll have to give it another listen 😀
