Ed and Lorraine Warren have investigated some of the most famous paranormal cases in the modern day. Yet, one of the most horrific and terrifying cases must be the Snedeker family haunting. The case has inspired a book, television shows and even a Hollywood horror movie, “A Haunting in Connecticut”. Yet, what is the truth behind the Snedeker haunting? #paranormal #horror

The cancer diagnosis and treatment would tear most kids apart, then to be put in that atmosphere is disgusting. There's so much more she didn't expose. All this is is her opinion. I know way more and if any of you knew what I did you would know they went through hell! It's evil to dismiss what these poor people went through. If you don't know the entire situation YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO GIVE ANY DAMM OPINIONS!! She might have binge watched KZbin videos about this but unless you know every single person involved and know their real motives, meaning their neighbors, you have no right to make a documentary!! I can't imagine how being a teen amplifies this weirdness.
@Quandry1

The problem is the family only seems so truthful on the surface and when their stories are filtered to us through others that pick out pieces to make it work better. When you study the families actual accounts like is mentioned in this video. There are a great deal of problems with them. And this is not the only case the warrens were involved in that has these kinds of issues. Another famous case that has their name all over it and is part of popular culture has the same problem. The Amittyville Horror. It seems believeable enough when filtered to us in a seemingly unsensationalized manner. But their actual accounts of it when you look into them have some serious inconsistancies and flaws and not even all the "participants" in the matter actually agree that it even took place and have said that they were kind of pushed into it. In both of these stories and a couple others as well. You find a weird consistency in writers paid to write the accounts of these cases have another odd similiarity as well. The fact that the writers themselves of these books have gone on to admit that the personal accounts they take down to write their books don't match up and have issues and Ed Warren telling the writer that the family is crazy and to piece together what they could and make up anything they needed to in order to make the story work and be as scary as possible. Though the exact wording on how they were told this from Ed is a little different in each case.

I agree. I have witnessed the paranormal & have seen & seemed to somehow know things about people, places & things that turned out to be eerily accurate. However, having not been on “the other side” and being a human living in this world, I cannot definitively claim what exactly it was I’ve seen or how or why I knew the things I knew so accurately. People would say about me, “She’s psychic”. I would say otherwise and when people would ask me how I knew the things I did, I’d answer, “I don’t know”. Because that’s the truth. I can’t label myself “psychic”, a “medium”, “clairvoyant” and the like because I live on this earthly plane and cannot definitively proove without a doubt these things. Hence, when someone does claim the be psychic and the like, I am skeptical. Also, from what I do know of the Warrens, makes me discount any of their claims especially since they seem to only get involved in cases where they can profit from the tragedies happening to the people they claim to help. Any case where the Warrens are involved, I find highly questionable. This is just my opinion. I could be wrong. I think you did a great job presenting this, by the way.

idk.. except for the last 60 or 70 years when people tend to go to hospitals or nursing homes at the end of their life, pretty much everyone who died of illness or old age died at home. and before refrigeration and commercial funeral services the body would just be kept at home as well, for a day or two until the burial. in our village most of the houses in the middle bit near the church are hundreds of years old, and most of the other villages close by are the same. so all of those houses will have had lots and lots of people die in them, and the bodies kept there too. and thats the same for lots of places in lots of countries. but Ive never heard of any of the houses in our village being haunted because there were deaths in the house or because those bodies were kept there. its just completely normal. it feels like its only people who live in places with lots of modern buildings where death is something that has usually happened somewhere else who think it has to mean something bad.

There are also various reasons why the funeral home itself would not actually be haunted anyway. the spirit would be either attached to a place they were fond of or associatable with in life or they would be tied to a place where their body rests in death. They would not be attached to a place that was a temporary storage and preparation place.

Couldn't agree more with this comment! Anything that's 100% devoted to believing every word of a given paranormal story gets really, really boring after awhile! It's just plain naive to assume that hauntings are apparently the one single subject that nobody ever lies about for money or attention, despite the fact that both of the above seem like very good reasons to create a hoax...but unfortunately, that's what all too many paranormal creators seem to do: believe unconditionally and without question.

Its an interesting point. When I was a teenager and lived with my parents in a house for 4 years and had no activity what so ever. Our family was also providing home stay for international students, and once we had a student who has told us that he's seeing a spirit of an old man in his room. We all laughed and brushed him off. Then, a year after he left I started seeing the same spirit! And at the time we had to cover our fireplace and install an air con, because fireplaces became illegal in our area, and this is when all hell started to break loose. I started to feel presence and seeing a shadow and the spirit of an old man, but for lack of information available at the time I thought that its the same entity. Anyway, my parents never felt or saw anything and did not believe me at all. Until my step father passed away (I still refer to him as my parent and sometimes as my dad since he was more of a father to me than my biological one), then my mother started to experience the lights switching all by themselves and all sorts of strangeness and thought that it was my step-father doing it, but I knew it was not him! I could never convince her otherwise and it was difficult to get her to leave that house. I attempted to cleanse that house and all sorts of methods available on the internet - nothing helped, moreover it put a target on me and made it worse for me. Now I'm just grateful that it didn't follow us and I got myself and my mother out of there. The thing is with hauntings its such a personal experience, its super hard to prove it, this is why stories like that can be argued back and forth to no end. Because of so many different factors taking place, some people will have different experience from others (like me and my mom had completely different experiences), sometimes it seems the story getting more to it because of how people don't feel comfortable sharing some things then being pushed to share, I can also see how people got very emotional with this story and getting angry at people digging and pushing their buttons all the time. I feel like there may be some truth to this, but possibly 90% of it is lies, not only because of money but also probably they didn't feel comfortable with letting the world know of their real struggles.

To address your point towards not recollecting the events exactly, it actually lends more to truth than lying. In highly traumatic events, the mind shuts down the frontal cortex, and adrenaline floods the system. Memory is the first thing to go in the situations. Obviously I’m sure ppl will rise against my statement however I have lived in several homes/land which are haunted. I have also came across 2 demonic entities which is something you can never forget & I have had ppl think I was under extreme stress & needed to get away then it show its present in front of those ppl from demonic growling to setting off electronics as I passed by or through a doorway. When you are experiencing these things it will make you feel crazy and your behavior becomes abnormal as you cannot rest. I have lost life-long friendship from my experiences and I have had several priests from the Catholic Church to offer help without the approval of the church. I am a registered American Indian and have informed from a young age of having the gift of sight as I’ve seen deaths of ppl in my dreams as well. Just like the Bible reads “The Holy Spirit provides gifts” to people and not everyone has the same gift however we cannot against others for not understanding their gift but yet pray if we feel a wolf amongst sheeps. I have also been on my death bed at the point of crossing over and seen with a different set of eyes of what is good & evil, this puts you in fear and for almost 10yrs it took to be patient for the Lord to send understanding and the Christian who was meant to hear with understanding of my experience. We must be easy as just bc we do not believe doesn’t mean it doesn’t believe in you and to come to know you. ✌️❤️ & 🦋’s Shelly

The more I learned about what the Warrens are about, the more I felt they were totally bogus. I mean, everything was demons. It was never a human haunting. It had to be sensationalized beyond credibility. And some of the things they claimed were just plain ignorant, too. They'd turn a fictional book into a direct portal to hell that's oh so conveniently and easily secured and made utterly safe to look at in a cabinet with a glass door. I used to think they were awesome when I was a kid. Sadly, I think they did more harm than good in the world of actual, factual paranormal investigation.

I'm so, *so* bloody happy to finally find a video on this topic that doesn't just unconditionally & unquestioningly swallow everything the family claims...despite the fact that anyone can easily discover that they've given countless, contradictory statements over the years. The detail that really bugs me is how Carmen now is apparently employed as a self-styled psychic & medium, and claims that she's *always* been a "natural medium" who's always been able to sense supernatural/paranormal presences. But back in the 80s, she claimed at different times that: she never experienced anything in the house; she only experienced things after everyone else had experienced it; she was brutally physically assaulted by entities at the house, etc...but yet throughout her initial 80s interviews, the one thing that seemed to hold steady was that Carmen claimed that she'd NEVER had ANY paranormal experiences *before* moving into the house! So which is it?? Was she always a "natural medium" who had experienced paranormal activity since childhood? Or did she never experience anything of the sort until she moved to the house?? Those are kinda big contradictions, y'know?

Lol. How does knowing the history of your house make a difference? What about what may have happened on the land BEFORE the house was built? Some one else commented here about most people dying AT HOME until the last 50 years or so, and the trend is once again to let them do so if that's their choice. My mother's choice was to be in her own home in her own bed. Of course her children honored her. Death is a natural part of life, and we'll all get there eventually.

@@barbarat5729 I think natural deaths aren't the issue. What is the issue is anything of a violent nature. Murder, violence, and such. I have been in older homes with a history of people dying and no issues. I have also been in a few homes that had very violent experiences. Lots of leftover or residual energy. Knowing the history of the house is important, to me at least, and yes, history of the land is part and parcel of that.

People or someone said the Snedeckers didn't look like they were scared, but often people put up a front, so their appearance may not reflect their experiences. Plus, if someone is experiencing things that are strange, things that cannot be explained they are not likely to confide in others. For years I suffered through strange and possibly paranormal occurrences, but I mostly kept it to myself. How do you confide in someone that you feel like you're levetating, being pushed out of your bed and that your bed shakes.
@fifteenbyfive
@fifteenbyfive 3 жыл бұрын
Other neighbors have confirmed that there was no sign of being a funeral home visible when the Snedeckers moved in. Evidence in the basement wasn't revealed until the renovation of additional bedrooms were added. The sign to the right of the front door was covered for obvious reasons, as showing a rental property as a funeral home (which it no longer was) isn't going to be helpful to getting it rented. So why would the sign be there? That claim makes no sense. I don't know why this trivia became so fiercely debated. As for the neighbor's claim that they knew beforehand, I have to think the Snedeckers found out very quickly after moving in or before they "settled in" with the entire family in place, only because you can't order such renovations of a property you're renting without already being contractually obligated to live there.

@Quandry1
@Quandry1 4 жыл бұрын
People have lived in former Funeral Parlour's quite peacably without any problems. There may be more such properties than you think. They can be really easy to miss or you might never know about their history unless you actually dig into historical records. The haunting of funeral parlour's also makes the least amount of sense even by the rules for hauntings that Ed and Lorraine warren put forth let alone are regularly accepted by "paranormal investigators". The only reason for them to be haunted is our own creepy feelings about what we might picture about what took place in the location. Modern people are also rather detached from certain long standing details about how death and the dead is and was handled previously. For a very long time and not that long ago relatively speaking (like 100 years ago) most people actually died in their home. The body might even be kept in their own home for a few days before the funeral happened and they went straight into the ground and other once common practices like that. Before the modern era things like funeral homes were rare and sometimes very culture specific. And even when they did come into being the two pratices over lapped for a very long time. But the reality that any property that was lived on and has a deed more than 100 years old may have had somebody die in that spot. And any house of any decent historical age most certainly has had not just one but many people do so. If we condemn Funeral homes for Mortuary practices the reality is that we have to write off most of the places that people live on the planet as being irrevocably haunted for the same reasons.

@@Quandry1 But allegedly the warren's stated that the funeral home had bad staff that would defile the bodies and that was the erroneous reason for the haunting in a funeral parlour. LOL give me a break!

The Warrens are pioneers in this field. Doubters to be expected always by the very nature of the paranormal.

As a child I used to live over the top of a funeral service. Nothing spooky about it. Also nothing to be frightened about. Xxx

this event, case, occurred several decades ago , several years before "the internet", and much of the sources all seem VERY subjective, have some agenda or motive to push or promote, and is very divisive story. (eg, home inspections have changed alot over past several yrs (esp when buying) , but if they were only RENTING , PART of the house, it does not seem that necessary to inspect prior to a move) with such limited public facts either available or discoverable, it will be difficult to determine the level of veracity in this reported haunting. it does have much in common with some of the other cases the Warrens have also worked, esp Amityville, eg the mom just like in the Lutz family, seemed to contribute to the situation getting worse or muddier.

Such a well-balanced presentation! I've never been a fan of the Warrens nor had any ill-will toward them; so I'll put their involvement to the side. What I find credible is that the stories are not the same. Life tends to filled with shades of gray and any story that is purported to be true that doesn't have any contradictions is immediately suspect. I think this story was around the time of the "Satanic Panic" that tore through the country. Given that zeitgeist, I could see their story being embellished from actual events. Ultimately, I suspect the truth is somewhere in the middle
