Danny! Danny! Danny! I have a recommendation that is also a Chinese anime that you would get a kick out of. (It’s called scissor seven and is available on Netflix btw) If you haven’t watched it already it’s about this deadly assassin who gets amnesia and starts a new life as a barber. He works as a barber as a “cover” because he wants to be an assassin (ironic) and kill people in order to clear his debt that he owes to the doctor that revived him. The only problem is…he fails every mission. There are four seasons with a season five on the way. The first two season are all comedy but as you get deeper into it it has more badass fight scenes that are on different level!!!

As someone in the game design world, I was sold the moment you said Solo Leveling video game. I love Solo Leveling, the webtoon, and have enjoyed the anime. A video game is even better! I've always loved how the main character is the only player in a world of NPCs. While other people are just figuring out how to survive the strange things that have changed their everyday life, he was able to figure out it's all just a game to be played. I don't know if this is one of the concepts the author is playing with, but I find that Solo Leveling is an interesting comparison between our attitudes towards real life and our attitudes while we play games. The more the main character plays the game, the more detached from reality he becomes. It's an interesting concept.

Baruka is a 1st quarter antagonist (around when he is maybe a high A class hunter but has not been registered as an S class yet) and related to an ending antagonist so there are more neat looking people like that but you probably wont see them till at least season 3 of the anime or late season 2. Also Jinwoo has no weapon restriction any hunter can use any weapon really like how that one mage uses a sword because he is a swordsmanship instructor and former I think national champion. It is just some classes dont really have abilities that work with like swords and such Spoilers: Baruka is one of the bosses he fights right after he gets the shadow army and his new class he is the first major dungeon boss Jinwoo fights after than i think

@@codyglenn7231 that's fair, based on the novel, it's slow paced at times. I do think the overall character designs outside of the main trio are not remarkably eye-catching (in the sense of silhouettes) save for Sangah, Dokja's mom, and maybe Nirvana. The overarching plot is a bit convoluted, but rereading the novel after the ending gives you another interesting viewpoint on the story. I personally like it because of the time shenanigans and the character dynamics, but ofc everyone is entitled to their opinion. Imagining Danny's reactions though is interesting, so I'm gonna be one of those beggars when it comes out 😄

In the comic he does stick to daggers (and necromancy), but it makes sense to let players play different magic systems and weapons. I think the first puzzle was super cool and I've always been sad that it's... kind of the only one of its kind? Aside from the overarching mystery of what's going on with him and all that, SJW kind of gets to a point where the solution to every problem is "stab it harder" :/

Quick note: you said you were caught up on the anime. The very 1st save in the show comes from "Paladin guy" - Koreas only S rank healer. The A rank comment was weird to me for this reason but what you said made sense. They should probably work on the wording. Also it is but isn't an ensemble cast. The show is called SOLO Leveling for a reason which has me slightly concerned. I recognize the fights/moves from the webtoon but I'm now a little worried it'll be a Gacha or team game which is great at 1st but pretty problematic later. I guess if they give everyone the same ability to level up its fine? It looks like they care about each moment but I am worried seeing other characters play. I don't know why they made the Igris huge but I approve. It works so well. He's in the intro to the anime and is the same size as our main character in both webtoon and anime, maybe a little taller but having him be a giant also works really well. Since the game spoiled might as well. Yes exactly. Also I will only correct that one of them was not a boss and its even cooler/darker but I don't want to spoil it. And that's how he uses them. They become loyal but independent yet obedient slaves. They do what he says and can also strategize so he has them fight/level up for him. It's so cool yet terrifying. Yes but this game def gives him more weapons. 19:55 Holy crap that's so far into the webtoon which has me way more hype. Also...that's not water but I can't explain. It is so much cooler. Not bubbles either though this is a more creative way to use it in combat. But they are all the same effect just used creatively which is also sick. Also to be fair he could technically use it to summon a hydra. It just has nothing to do with water. cool but thinking too small. Ah whatever if you read this far I'll tell u so spoilers bc it's cannon: The "bubbles" are gates aka portals. He's fighting with portals. but if you're disappointed, he can't control water it's fine. If he beats something that can do that with water, he can. And make them appear wherever he wants.

The main character doesn't use other weapons than daggers, but that was more because that was his preferred weapon, but he did use a sword when he went through the very first dungeon temporarily sense he didn't have any good weapons. But yeah I can't wait to play this game now, lol.

Also, if you have a vpn, you can actually play this if you set your vpn to canada. That being said, I really hope they fix the client soft locking in every other mission victory screen. Other than that, the game is really fun. One more thing, about the "automated" thing, you can "play" in 2 ways. One is you manually fight everything, and calling supports when you want. The other is you can actually let the game play itself. It has a completely automatic fighting system that you can toggle with a single f2 press. Same for support calls with f3. So missions that make you play characters you don't like (mainly side stories) I can just set to automatic and eat a snack while the game plays itself, then take back control when I want. Yes, you can equip a plethora of weapons on Jinwoo, to customize your playstyle. Your character abilities will still use your daggers, but the auto and core attack plus weapon skill is determined by your equipped weapon. You have many options like daggers, swords, guns, crossbows, magic grimoire, and even giant scythes.

Honestly, the moment I saw this was a mobile game, I checked out. I just don't associate the Genshin Gatcha formula with any of the things that I would want to see in a game about Solo Levelling. Like...I honestly don't even _care_ about the characters that aren't Jinwoo. At least not in a game.
