It's like if they had downgraded the game back to SADX quality for most of the game, except for the CGI animated ones. At lest SADX had a reason for it, being that it was Sonic Teams's first proper 3D Sonic Game, but these, just like the game itself, seemed to have been rushed out of the door.

And I'd still actually say these cutscenes are superior and way more watchable than Adventure. There's quite a bit more cutscene direction, the sound mixing is pretty good, and characters don't randomly start walk-cycling 5 seconds after they stop. Obviously they're still awkward as hell and the mocap isnt doing them any favors, but I think they're okay.
