Actually, the problem was that they (SEGA) didn't make it clear to both the customers and the bar staff which drinks were free and which drinks weren't.

I clicked on this video assuming it was just a meme edit or something, since I didn't know this event even happened, and there's no year in the title. Gotta say, as soon as you mentioned drinking, I immediately saw where this was going. A launch party with refreshments is a fine idea. But the minute you introduce alcohol, and more so when you don't have a decent staff presence, it's a recipe for disaster in one way or another. Adults only or not, I'm kinda surprised Sega would ever allow a public event with alcohol for the Sonic series. Yakuza makes sense, but Sonic?

The issue is that they didn't know they went too far. There was no real clarification which drinks were covered, and to be fair it WAS a party, so having a few drinks is pretty normal.

You should talk about Radio Redux, Gary Knight's personal Sonic/SEGA podcast. If you recognize that name, it's because he was the community manager at SEGA Europe during the second half of the 2000s. It's super interesting to see how differently and how much more openly he interacted with the fanbase compared with the clean cut Aaron Webber.

Good question, I don't really remember in all honesty, I'm guessing since it was likely just a form of food colouring to make the blue colour, very similar to a typical one. Though I seem to remember a hint of lemon, most likely from the ring effect they put on the top of the glass.

I actually remember when SEGA released this on PC for the first time and all i had in my mind back then was this simple question: Why though? No seriously who on earth asked for this to be on PC? Wow. A great pre-launch event went sour AND we got yet another version of one of the worst Sonic titles I've ever played. Sonic is not Mario, and that is a positive in my eyes.
