In regards to Sonic Adventure only having maybe 10% "the awesome spectacle," the best analogy I've heard is the Lucky Charms one You eat Lucky Charms for the marshmallows Sometimes you even eat all the grain cereal specifically so you're left with the marshmallows at the end to enjoy But if you just picked out all the marshmallows, stuffed them into a box, and only ate those from the outset every time, you'd come to hate it quickly. It's the cereal that makes the marshmallows so great.

One of the best little nods to older game lore is one I almost never see brought up: The Sonic 3 & Knuckles manual describes the history of the echidnas, explaining that they were wiped out by a "dragon" Lo and behold, Sonic Team seized upon that tiny, scarcely noticeable detail and made a whole game's plot out of it. It makes me wonder: somewhere out there, there must have been a kid with an overactive imagination who read video game manuals to find the story (yes, we did exist back when manuals and attention spans were things that existed) had to have made their own little fanfic out of that, imagining what kind of dragon wiped out Knuckles' people some summer day in '95 or '96 or something, wondering if some day, there'd be a Sonic game where you got to fight that dragon.

20:28 I vividly remember going on House of Grandish back in 1996. It was just a single room - you sat in front of a mirror with headphones on and your hands on two metal skulls that measured your heart rate. Various flashing lights, spooky sounds and vibrations tried to jump scare you (there were no animatronics or real actors) and it was kinda disappointing.

Medal Dash had a Sonic themed 5k (also 10k and 13.1k) virtual race offered in 2022, and was pretty close to Sonic 2's release period. Conisidence, I don't think so. Sadly they never made one for Sonic 3 :(

no story is perfect thats just how world works, the game just follows like how rivers flow, no need for a Stravagante starting or any. Its just a story of simple people who is trap when corporate turn rogue, For me surge story is how reality works this is what will happen for the same scenario in real world. not because your the protagonist youll have grasp to everything.
