Johnny Sack is such a strong character. The actor that portrays him is so very naturally talented. Prior to becoming an actor he was a construction worker.
@Filimaua13Ай бұрын
As someone else already mentioned on Patreon, The Dimeo Family basically run New Jersey. Tony Soprano runs the NJ family as the acting boss while the real boss is serving time in jail. This was mentioned in the first season and kinda randomly mentioned throughout the series. The New York Families tho are much bigger and are more powerful than anything Tony and crew could ever be. So there's definitely a power difference between NY and NJ. Johnny Sack is a great character. He's the underboss of one of the NY families. The reason he was in this episode is because of the innerconflict between Tony and Ralph. This is important because Ralph runs mostly big construction jobs, The Esplanade Hotel Construction Project being a project the NY Family that Johnny is from has a piece in and benefits from. So I'd assume the reason Johnny was making moves behind the scenes was to ensure the Esplande Project wasn't compromised. I doubt he truly cares about the drama between Tony and Ralph, and is only interfering because any bad blood between them could affect NY's business if it isn't handled.

Funny seeing you here. You know what’s great about LM reactions? Unlike most reaction channels, they don’t censor language, violence, or even nudity, and their videos stay up. Somehow, they’re still making money and thriving. I wish more reaction channels would take a page from their book and do it right. Bowing to advertisers who demand everything be sanitized for ‘family-friendly’ content is pathetic. Censorship is insufferable.

@24:37 - Having Gigi poisoned is an interesting theory but his death didn't appear out of nowhere and happen randomly. The show made it a point, before he died, to show him being under a lot of stress with his new responsibilities as captain. High stress can go from mental to physical and actually kill people, especially if they already have some type of condition like heart disease as with the Gigi character. Oh also , him dying on the "pishadoo" is an implication that he may have had an ulcer which is a condition created by stress.
@richardpearce49884 күн бұрын
I remember first time (as in first time on TV) round watching this episode and thinking initially there was something suspicious about the death - especially after Tony told Ralphie not to ask if he'd been made Captain just because Gigi died (possible implication that it was done to solve this problem). So I can understand the theory, but I think you're right, it's most likely due to stress / heart condition.

'Disrespecting the Bing' means disrespecting Tony and his place if business.
@Filimaua13Ай бұрын
I also think upholding the rules is important because even if Tony is a boss, if he starts disrespecting the rules it basically communicates to the crews that he thinks he's above the rules which could cause people to turn against him and possibly plot to take him out. The mob is a business organization more than anything. A boss being assasinated from the inside has happened before.. so there's nothing stopping that from happening. Tony definitely fcked up. Cos think about it, Ralph makes the family alot of money which benefits alot of people. If he were to disappear or be whacked with no real reason, what message does that communicate to the crews? That anyone can be taken out for no real reason.. its like imagining a boss for a legit company firing someone just because he personally didn't like him. Who wants to work for a boss like that?

@Gaboxxy9612 күн бұрын
It it had happened 20 years ago, then Tony would've been whacked without any doubt for hitting a made man, it's a big no no. The show makes it a point to portray how the mob is in it's dying years and has been all but corrupted, so many rules and dogma it once had is respected much more "loosely" nowadays. One example is the drug use: before, a made guy could be whacked if he was caught using a hard drug, even recreationally. Now, all the guys snort lines for time to time and nothing happens.
@ExecutionStyleInc4 күн бұрын
In the real world Ralph would've been murdered off because he committed a homicide that literally put the entire jersey crew at risk. had the guy in the truck not drove off and notified the police. Everyone in the establishment would've been held on a conspiracy charge. Drugged out, Killing a pregnant Women (stripper, whore or not) and putting everyone at risk. He would've been considered way to loose cannon to keep alive. Tony hitting him might've broken the rules but given what Ralph did and how he acted, him getting punched would've been considered acceptable response. The Soprano Family is still it's own thing, so technically Tony had full authority to violate him for his fucked up behavior. The only reason New York is even involved is because Ralph was spearheading business between then both. It's the only reason he managed to stay alive, because The Soprano crew wouldn't want to murder someone who is technically benefiting the bigger family. Everyone involved in the incident clearly had no issue with him being hit, so in essence his entire family (with the exception of his crew) sanctioned it.
@gregsgoogle29473 күн бұрын
@@ExecutionStyleInc I believe the point the writers are making is Tony demands everyone play by the mafia rules except him. Point being Tony is a hypocrite in every aspect of his life. Punching Ralphie was just another example. This is why Tony is a terrible mob boss. He’s emotionally out of control. He’s terrible at thinking strategically. Tony isn’t pragmatic like Johnny Sack or Carmine Sr.

@@gregsgoogle2947 Her motivation for what? Going off to college, getting away from her parents, like most kids do. What in the world does that have to do with the way she was raised. Feeling entitled and that there are no real consequences for her action, because of her parents, especially her mother, who she knows is not going to do anything. As seen in multiple episodes when she does something, and has this smug look on her face when she gets two words for carmela and walks away. Break in my grandmas house, trash the hell out of it, have drugs and alcohol there, then literally cuse out her parents when there talking to her about it, 2 weeks no credit card.
