Jimmy was not a rat; there's zero evidence to support that theory. Tony suspects Jimmy is the rat because he desperately wanted to believe his friend Big Pussy was not a rat, and that the crooked cop got two fat fucks confused, as Tony delicately put it. A brief history of the DeMeo family's leadership. Over the course of the series, we see the family under the leadership of three nominal bosses, Ercole "The Old Man" DeMeo, Corrado "Junior" Soprano and Tony Soprano, and consiglieres Mikey "Grab Bag" Palmice and Silvio Dante. There are 6 crews active at the start of the series, plus the La Manna crew (which we know existed before Feech's release from The Many Saints of Newark) which is presumably either relatively inactive or operating under an anonymous acting capo. The captains of said crews are as follows: APRILE CREW: Jackie Aprile (deceased) - Richie Aprile (murdered) -Gigi Cestone (deceased)- Ralph Cifaretto (murdered)- Vito Spatafore (murdered) - merged with the Altieri crew under Carlo Gervasi. CURTO CREW: Raymond Curto (deceased) - unknown who succeeds Ray, possibly absorbed by another captain as with the Aprile crew. ALTIERI CREW: Jimmy Altieri (Murdered)- Carlo Gervasi. BARESE CREW: Larry Barese (Arrested)- Albert Barese. J. SOPRANO CREW: Junior Soprano (promoted to boss)- Joseph Sasso (arrested) - Philly "Spoons" Parisi (murdered)- Murf Lupo (demoted due to dementia and physical frailty)- Bobby "Bacala" Baccalieri (murdered) - probably Tony Maffei. T. SOPRANO CREW: Tony Soprano (promoted to boss)- Peter Paul "Paulie Walnuts" Gualtieri. LA MANNA CREW: Michele "Feech" La Manna (sent back to prison) - possibly Christopher Moltisanti? He becomes a full captain after Feech's arrest and I don't know what other crew he could have taken over.

Its not like there could only have been one though. Look how many characters were rats or flipped throughout the show. Even Raymond in this scene.
@timothyjennings95208 жыл бұрын
francis p Well, its implied that Carlo flipped in the last scene of the series. Also you only see Eugene talking to the feds right before he kills himself. You could be right though. The show tended to leave a lot of stuff open to the viewers interpretation. My interpretation from the get go was that he was a rat, given the way he reacted prior to being whacked.

Actually we don't know that. Jimmy if he did flip it was after being arrested with Pussy later (still debatable if he did). While Ray we don't actually know if he was a rat yet, we see him get arrested at the brothel in late season one so that may have been when he flipped. This may have been just a genuine sentiment among the gang everyone wanted to be a capo but no one wanted to be boss.

@@darth856 it's weird. Even if they didn't feature him as a character, it seems unrealistic that given the mobster's constant dialogue about the "old days" they never talked about him, especially given that he's presumably alive throughout the series! I'm assuming the writers decided that constantly referencing a character they couldn't actually include would be distracting, so let him fade into obscurity.
