@@chrismartin8829 He definitely had some influence since his nephew was the boss and Tony valued his advice, but that influence started and ended there. He had no authority and was confined to his house at that point.

@@chrismartin8829 how can you have real power and be sidelined at the same time. If you’re sidelined youre sidelined. Junior had influence but he didn’t have power, Tony was the one running shit.

Despite his deceit, Junior respected the old ways. Omerta was something real in his generation not like today.

Junior would never give up tony. He talks a bunch of s*** throughout the series to other guys about Tony but in the end, Tony was a son to him. That's why it took dementia for the man to cross him.

I love season 1 because a) it's just so fucking Jersey. And b) Junior Soprano is still a mobster in solid standing. Has a crew for crying out loud. Starting with season 2 he's basically shelved and then in later seasons he develops dementia.
@darth8564 жыл бұрын
He was still allowed some influence over his former crew though, such as deciding who is the capo. We saw that when he promoted Bobby in season 4 (I think it was)
@champ11142 жыл бұрын
Exactly, I wish we had another season where it was more like season 1. More backstory. More time with Jackie Sr and Junior as a gangster so we can see more of Tony as a Capo and not the acting boss yet. Before everything went haywire. So if there was 1 other season before season 1 that would be perfect.

1:04 that quick cut to Tony with a small, smug smirk, Tony secretly isn't that mad, cause his plan went off without a hitch. Junior had the title of "boss" but it was just a figurehead or puppet title. He knew he was the real boss, and Junior took all the heat
