The Sorcerer's Apprentice Perfected Magic

I recently watched the Harry Potter series again after a long time, and while I did enjoy my time with the series, I found that their usage of magic, especially in fight sequences, were lacking.
So to scratch that magic itch, I decided to take a look at another movie feature a wizard from my childhood. And let's why I think it has the best usage of magic.

This movie helps to capture the side of magic that is lacking in many big-budget movies. And that is imagination. If your abilities are limited only by your creativity, then it would make sense to get creative, but instead we have flashes of light, and wand slapping. It disheartens.

Very well done! My personal favorite is an oldie but a classic…Eglantine Price in Bedknobs & Broomsticks. The substitutiary locomotion spell used to make inanimate objects take on a life force of their own makes for one of my absolute favorite climactic battles in cinema. Plus it has the bonus of being a musical Disney film that blends live-action and animation.
