I am loving this pattern!! I like how simple and easy it is. And no stitch markers needed! The pattern marks itself, so great!! Thank you for sharing 😊

Thank you for this shawl pattern. It took me a while to get my head around it but once it sank in I love it. A small tip I would like to pass on is to put a stitch marker in each eyelet space between the segments. That way it will remind you to keep that space clear, especially while watching TV or a movie. Love all of your tutorials Fiber Spider. Lots of love from Victoria, Australia.

I love the way this shawl is turning out. This is a great pattern, I prefer this shape to a triangular one because it doesn't go on and on down at the back in order to have decent length sides. This is definitely a go-to design. Thanks, Spider. 😂

Hi Fiber Spider! I have had 3 skeins of Caron Cakes in Blueberry Cheesecake, that I just haven't found the right pattern for. I have had them, for quite a while. I've tried several other pattens and was not happy with the outcome. Until I saw this tutorial. My shawl is coming out great and well, I think I like it. It's funny how just the right yarn and pattern have to be right for each other? 🤔 Thanks for a great tutorial. 👍

FiberSpider, you've done yet another great video, and I am so gratified that you have done another of my patterns. I must say, you are a great teacher, and I love how you take the time and show/explain every bit. :) I know the increases are a little wonky, but it's because this particular shawl is sort of based on working a flat dc circle, which is like a pizza with 12 slices, and each row you crochet, each "slice" only gets a single increase. This keeps your circle nice and flat. So those increases in the shawl do seem a little odd or lopsided--and there was much trial and error on my part because I didn't like how it was asymmetrical--but it turned out to be really the only way it would work and keep with that flat circle idea. I had to convince myself that the increase on the eyelet row balanced out the increase on the solid row and sort of canceled out the wonky. I also love that you pointed out not to work into the chain space that separates the segments. For me, that really helped let me know where my increases needed to be. And I am a "Pooh of little brain," sometimes, so anything that makes things easier for me is probably what I'm going to end up doing. haha There is a third variation that I did on my own, but didn't include in the pattern. It was a 3/4 variant that begins with 9dc instead of 7, all the increases are worked as a solid row (no eyelet rows) until you get 24dc per segment, then alternating between eyelet/solid 3 times, so there are 3 eyelet rows, each eyelet row being followed by a solid row, and then whatever edging you like best. Thanks again!

I took quite a bit of liberty with the basic pattern. I hope both you & purpleiguana will forgive me, please! ; ) Instead of working the 'soild row as 2 DC into the top of the 1st dc, I worked a single TC into the first of the stitches and added my increases into the middle of the stitches. My favorite tutor always says that symmetry is what it's all about!! (yes i quoted you F.S.) I also changed the stitches from doubles crochets to triples on these rows as well but kept using doubles on the lace rows. I used a bulky 5 yarn and a size K hook to work this pattern as i wanted a bigger shawl for winter! I think it has turned out perfect so far! Thank you both for this project & i wanted to tell you Fiber Spider just how much I appreicate you for being so awesome! A fantastic teacher!

My name is Joey. I love all the creative projects that you come up to do. I just finished a American Flag Throw. It is worked with a granny square stitch. The border was two rows of sc. The 50 stars had to be sewn on last. It was a time cosuming project. I know how you like that stitch in projects that you do. It measured 48" height x 83" wide. You give me inspiration to be a better crocheter and to be a better person. THANK YOU FIBER SPIDER.

I’ve already commented but just wanted to add that putting a stitch marker in the chain space that separates the sections, really helps from going too far in each row. Just move it up each time you get to it. Obvious but has worked well for me.

Just finished this shawl with Mandala Chimera. It's beautiful (even with a couple small mistakes)! You'd have to be an expert like yourself to find them. You are a wonderful instructor and I really appreciate your time and patience. I, like others, have tried to follow others but so far I've only had good luck with a rare few. Thank you so much for all your efforts!

I love your tutorials. Back in the day I used to have to have my mom help me start and end a project because I could not figure out how to read patterns. I'm a little better at reading patterns but now I don't have to because I can just follow along with you. You are a great teacher which makes it so easy to follow along. My mom has been gone for over 20+ years now but she'd be amazed at all the beautiful shawls I've made for people who feel God's comforting arms wrapped around them when they wear it and it's all thanks to you. I've crocheted quite a few different triangle shaped patterns but I found this "sort of half circle shawl" covers a person's arms better and it doesn't have that long "tail" in the back. My favorite pattern is the butterfly one. Do you think there would be a way to combine that pattern with this one? I look forward to your response. Meanwhile stay inspired, stay caffeinated and stay stitching!

No problem whatsoever! When I'm not sure about how much yarn I'm going to need, I err on the side of caution and get more than I think I'll need. I keep the receipt and then (if my willpower is strong) I return what skeins I didn't use. On the other hand, it's often a good idea to use yarn with no dye lot, then if you run out you can always get more of the same with no anxiety. 🤓☕🕸🕷
