Yes thank you for the review!. I was looking for that vintage old school death metal sound and alot players recommend the caveman, its pretty rad but this THIS is the sound i'm looking 4 😬 I know V.M. has a new version coming out but I think it's sold out. I will check/keep an eye out on reverb for this. Brutal pedal is someone wants to sell it 👍 again awesome review and demo man you keep it brutal man 😎🎸🤘

It's a pretty cool sound, would be great as a main distortion sound on a record.

The font on the pedal - it's the same as the MASSACRE logo. Pretty sure the pedal is named after a Massacre tune

You are 100% correct, total oversight on my part. I have been checking out the From Beyond album, its crushing.

Thanks for the vid! From Beyond is to me, the pinnacle of Florida death metal. I love that LP. When I was messing with some design ideas and tested the prototype and that sound came out I knew I had to do it. It definitely shines when you do the scooped/pushed mid thing by setting ultra mid higher up and then sweeping it and setting the mid peak, and using high and high sweep to fine tune it all. Its definitely versatile thats for sure.

I love the censored version of the album Vile. It is way better. Also my favorite song is 'Eaten from inside' while i paint and play miniatures.

Song Corpse Grinder from Massacre's album From Beyond. Rippin' album. I just got the Lich Deluxe and it rips.

Sounds way too flubby, whereas Deicide and CC specifically used a Boss MT-2 with the gain off as a boost to tighten the bottom end on their Crate and Marshall amps. Atheist and Death had much cleaner distortion too. And on balance the MorriSound sound was also soon seen as a production line factory sound with so many bands sounding extremely similar, Gorefest for example criticized the sound, so did Trey openly in his interview in Speed Demons magazine.

Dont worry, He barely touched the surface of what it can do in this video. Hes got another coming using the settings I do through my rig. It way way more aggressive than youd think.
@mikerauter1859 Жыл бұрын
Well in that case I'm interested to hear more. I was expecting a much tighter, heavier, crushing focused tone, he seemed to set it 'too flubby'@@VoidManufacturing

@@mikerauter1859 Il have a clip up tomorrow on my instagram with it through my rig and youll be able to hear it like that. With 6 mid peaks and being able to sweep the mid and high, theres way more than 1 tone there. Which is kinda the point.

Specifically regarding Deicide, where did you learn that they used Marshalls and MT2s, same with Cannibal to a lesser extent, because you can see during the bleeding sessions Scott had Rob use a Marshall 8100 with a boss SD1 the yellow pedal, I am always on the hunt for the correct info, so anything helps.

My first comment must have got eaten by algo bots. The real test would have been comparing it to the one on the shelf and seeing whether it was worth an extra 50 bucks. If anything ,morrisound proved you could make killer music with average gear if you had the right person at the helm.
@beatlejuice59515 ай бұрын
Lol sounds NOTHING like anything Morrisons ever put out. 🤣 thisis a vh140c copy with extras. Most of the bands that came outta Morris sounds were bands using Marshall's with pedals and EQ and lots of it was the production for each album. Compression and EQ'ing guitars and drum triggers, double and triple tracked guitars.
@DrewCreal5 ай бұрын
Hey you might be right, but this one has quickly become my favorite distortion for rhythm and leads. It rules!
@beatlejuice59515 ай бұрын
@DrewCreal it does sound sick, I'm not bashing the way it sounds, but as an old head who has pretty much every death metal album that came out from Morrisound, none of them sounded like this pedal. It's was Marshall, 5150s rectifiers and rack gear with a lot of it being eq and production work. Nice playing btw 🤟
@cryptoSabbateanFrankistJacobinАй бұрын
beatlejuice is correct; this is an Ampeg VH140c / Crate GX-130c circuit which was used by Dying Fetus and Cannibal Corpse (live) among others in the early Death Metal scene. That being said, I feel like there definitely is room in the market for another pedal that captures this distortion sound and if Joe of Void Manufacturing is saying it was inspired by his admiration for "the Morrisound Recording sound"... that's killer ! I want one
