My son died suddenly earlier this year in Castle Donnington. It was one of his favourite places. Me & him absolutely loved this song. We had it at his funeral. So many people had never heard this version before & were converted. He would have loved it being played @ download. A fitting tribute.

I have a ticket to a Disturbed concert later in the summer and I bought it "just in case." I know David isn't feeling well and just had surgery and some personal issues ... it's at an outdoor venue that I loathe ... it's a pain in the ass to get into and out of, traffic is awful, you have to park a looonnng way away, the mosquitos will eat you alive and the weather will most likely be portal-to-hell hot and humid. I'm also recuperating from a major surgery, to lean more into, "not this year." It has to be someone special to entice me to this particular venue (ever), but especially at this time of year. But I just decided I need to suck it up and go after seeing this live. Thanks for posting - this made my decision for me. 😉

We were bored stupid and found ourselves singing along to Simple plan on the Opus.whats with the 4 mins of silence between tracks. Disturbeds performance gave us plenty of opportunity for lunch/toilet breaks/topping up on sun cream etc.

Literally had the crowd in the palm of his hand. Just listen to the last few lyrics, the crowd is silent listening on his every word until the end. Absolute silence between the last line, "sound..... of Silence". For me, performance of the festival, whenever i think about download 2023 this is what will come to mind.

Beautiful! ☺👍👏Even though at the beginning his voice sounds a bit shaky, it is logical because he is doing it basically "a cappella", and he still can reach high notes. And it is obvious that it is 100% live, no playback or anything like that, so that sincerity, with its imperfections, for me, makes it even more moving. I have to admit I had my concerns after I recently discovered the studio version by this same band, so powerful and mind blowing, but the guy knows what he does, and the band is great too.

Great song, fantastic cover, but as a timpanist I get so pissed that the backing track is never played live. Why bother shipping 2 timpani around the world and pretend to play them? Surely transporting 3 and getting a timpanist to play wouldn't be that much harder. It's the same with the appearances on all the TV shows, so frustrating.
