I know I'm just coming across this reaction, but that's because I love Disturbed and this cover reaction is making its rounds once again to a new crop of reactors! I myself am an artist of words as well, but in the literary form. However, I am unknown so my literary style is still fresh and new. I believe the world SHALL know of my writing soon mainly because of the depth and emotion it comes with! That's all I have to say. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 🎉

David Draiman ....one of the best male vocalists on the planet Imho. A powerful yet soulful voice that can go from warm baritone to angelic tenor, from clear as a crystal to vocal fry/distortion and back on a dime. He has a timbre in his voice that I've never heard before.....just hauntingly beautiful tonal properties to it! Loved your reaction Schnell and agree with you 100%!.

I think what always gets me about this performance is that David was sick as hell when they did this. Like, he was so sick that the rest of band was like, "Sure, we can do this, but you're gonna sit down for the performance because we don't want you to collapse on stage." And then the fucking studio execs or producers or whatever, slipped in just the TINY bit of autotune, and David was FUCKING PISSED about it. The man is a fucking lyrical treasure and if you ever get a chance to see 'em in concert, do it. Don't pass GO, don't stop to collect $200, just fucking see 'em.

I have heard that Paul Simon who wrote this back in the 60s (and those of us old enough knew this as a hit from Simon and Garfunkel) not only congratulated him but said that it was now his song. I agree. The original is amazing but it was more poignant. This version shows the rage barely under the surface of the lyrics. This is a timeless urban poem.

Absolutely one of my top videos to watch reactions on. I get goosebumps EVERY time I hear it. This live version is 100% better than the official video....although I'm not sure why that is. One thing to point out is that I got the feeling based on your comments that you may think this is their original song (how many times he's sung it in his career etc.) so you may want to look up the original by Simon and Garfunkle if that is the case. To my knowledge he only started singing their version shortly before this performance. Great reaction though! Thanks!

Great reaction! 5 years later and I still love watching people react to this epic performance. It was made greater by the fact that David Draiman was actually ill that day, yet still delivered a spectacular performance. The live orchestra also added to this incredible performance. Paul Simon, the song's creator, is said to have reached out to the band after this performance. Referring to it as the greatest cover of any of his songs, he posted the video on his social media so that his fans could share in this amazing version of a classic song. So popular has this live performance become that Conan celebrated it last year as the first video from his show to get 100 million views. An absolute classic for the ages, IMHO.
