And… there is vehement opposition to what some Hindus view as attempts to proselytize or an Hindu individual or family joining the Christian fold. But… it's definitely not true that Christians are persecuted in India.

Great Creation Hymn. No gender confusion in this congregation. Some claim these Indian Christians can trace roots to Apostle Thomas.

St.Thomas, one of the 12 disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ, set foot on the Indian Subcontinent in the State of Kerala in South India. Sadly, whole preaching the good news, he was murdered by the locals outside the city of Madras, now called Chennai.ount St Thomas is the spot where he lost his life and was so named in his honor!. Yes, Christianity came to India hundreds of years before it made it to the western countries.

John Bryne - Which choir were you in at Chennai . Thanks for the feedback. About 14 years ago when the Lord led us to do the ageless hymns this is one focus that we had to do is the way it was sung origianlly with least compromise ( specially in the 250 voice Mass Choir ) yet present it so that the youngsters and future generation will enjoy .Each album ( about 12-14 hymns in each ) are done with prayerful preparation and planning with many months of practice . The members of the Mass Choir are from 10-12 leading choirs . So glad that it is reaching out and blessing millions across the globe at such a time as this. The location where this hymn was sung is St. Andrew's Church (The Kirk) in Egmore, Chennai in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. This magnificent edifice was built and dedicated in 1821 for the Scotsmen in then British army.
