Im still reading the hating game but I read the Spanish love deception first and I defiantly relate to everything you said. TSPLD: Too long, wasn't a big fan of the ending, repetitive with the blue eyes, a little to cringe. But I did love Aaron, everything about him honestly. He was a hurt guy with a past which I loveee and the way he loved and cared for Catalina OMG it had me crying and screaming at the same time (lol). And for Catalina, she's hilarious especially when she would say things in Spanish I'm Cuban/Spanish so I related to her and her family in sooo many ways it's crazy. But I also hated her ex and her past story, it really pissed me off. She's also a really stubborn woman just like Aaron told her when she fainted in the office because she was on a 'diet'. THG: Im 100 pages in so I barely have anything to say but what I will say is that they have A LOT of similarities especially when they both compare them to Clark kent that had me dying. But I can honestly tell I'm going to like this book a little more.

Great video! I agree with a lot of what you said. I think The Hating Game is far superior. THG is one of my top 3 contemporary romances, possibly #1. Honestly, I was suffering through the Spanish Love Deception. I'm wondering if there was just a very clever marketing campaign behind it because I don't see how so many people could have enjoyed it. I don't have too much of a problem with a quick burn, but when it's couple with extra padding for the sake of extra padding, it becomes tedious. My biggest pet peeve when reading is when characters don't use contractions. It pulls me right out of the story. I know it's minor, but I've confirmed that many people had that problem with the Spanish Love Deception. It just wasn't written well. The constant reminder of the blue eyes didn't help either. If the story was more unique, I might suffer through it more happily, but it was a knock off of THG and I found myself wondering why I would read an inferior version of that story when I could just reread THG.

Even tho I read the hating game first I kinda found it a little slow at the beginning not gonna lie especially when the story is so centered on the two lead characters this is why after reading TSLD with the latina family atmosphere and funny scenes I truly enjoyed it the only cons I'd say are the lack of translation and the baby thing ofc ( yeah it kinda grossed me out wish he used a more suitable nickname). Also the two books had very abrupt ending which really didn't set right with me but overall I can't complain. I highly recommend 👌.
