This is actually a myth since spantises have eyes that are remarkably similar to human eyes, spantises usually don't consider humans to be prey BUT running away will trigger their predatory instincts and cause them to attack and kill humans, what you'll need to do is calmly walk around them while keeping your eyes on them to guarantee safety

@@abulletant1147 demorpion (demoman-scorpion) is a stealthy ambush predator that resides in the tufort woodlands alongside their rivals the spantis, like the bombardier beetle the demorpion can excrete acid from it's Scorpion-like stinger, however unlike the beetle, the "acid" is comprised of highly volatile nitro glycerin which can explode on contact. The explosion at the end given its direction of origin, means that its original target was scout, however due to the unintentional interference of a passing spantis, the six inch demorpion had to quickly change target so as to expel the nitro glycerin without accidental self destruction (not unlike a bladder rupturing if hold it in for to long) unlike the spantis, the demorpion targets his prey using thermal vision with his one good eye, however it's depth perception is quite lousy. The only way to ward off a demorpion is to surround your camp with expired scrumpy laced with jarate, as the combo would wreak havoc on its senses. unfortunately that method can also attract a stampeding herd of soldeers. More info on soldeers are explained by the next comment.

nah Osveration should be: the spantis, it’s a mutated blue spy into a horrible looking monster, it’s is blind which explains why it Gacks it teeth’s. As it relays on echolocation to hunt, eat, sleep, and it can also have bigger variations of the creature, it also Gacks it teeth to scare the prey, like scout did when it gacked it teeth. It’s much unknown about this weird creature and it’s habits and what it did offscreen, as this little guy doesn’t have much screen time. but don’t be controlled by it’s cuteness it will tear you apart, well I don’t know but some people find it cute, which, makes them distracted by what horrific things it can do. and this little bastard make’s horrible sounds to make the prey even more running so that it would leach on into him the perfect time.

the spantis can only notice prey’s movement due to it ultimately being blind, because of this it relies almost entirely on its heightened sense of hearing. It clacks its teeth as a way of echolocation, and knows where its prey is going because of the sound it makes when moving.
