I was a white kid who moved to Monterey Park as a teen. My new Asian friends introduced me to homecooked Asian food and I had never tasted flavors so delicious. Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese food have been my all time favorite foods ever since!!

However, when I was growing up in the 70's, they didn't have these places in the East LA area, but the Mexican food was super yummy. To this day I always enjoy getting a burrito de pastor or flautas or a chili relleno.

@@josephrkennedy845 I learnt the hard way that an empty plate means you're still hungry in some Asian cultures, I went to my Lebanese friends house for dinner once and she kept piling my plate and was shocked at how much I could eat, I was in pain I was so full but I was taught it was the polite thing to eat everything you're served hahaha (UK) it did help that the food was absolutely delicious though

For some reason all those Chinese food reminds me of my dad. Makes me miss him so much.
