Sting... Venomous sting... just saying. :) This short story is fantastic. Unexpected twists and turns, drama, horror, anticipation. It is a complete story with a beginning, a middle and an end. Had this story been a novel it would have made the New York Times best sellers list for sure.

Antlions tend to fling grains of sand at their prey, if it did try to fly, the flicked sand would knock it out and into its death funnel

Anlions are awesome my friend had a lot of tiny to big holes in his yard and we would catch them and they are harmless the big ones are scary cause you think they will bite and trust me if you drop a ant in no matter how large the ant Will not escape

There are ants that can coat their mandibles with poison, but I don't think it applies here. I think they say 'bite' here because the camera missed the sting. 😓

Wolf spiders make good pets, and every child here plays with ant lions. Have to say that one of the most feared insects around here are those wasps, their sting is one of the few around these parts that when it happens even the toughest cowboy has only one thing they can do, scream, so it's best to just lie down and scream, so you don't get hurt worse by running off a cliff or into traffic. One of the reasons we love roadrunners is because they eat these, along with rattlesnakes...Did not know that ant lions could overcome the wasps, long time since I learned something new about our local fauna, thank you very much 👍🏼

Working in pest control I've Knocked down lots of mud dauber nests in Texas. It's neat to see what they store in their nests. They seem to fill the nest with specific insects. Found one with nothing but green caterpillars once and another one filled with nothing but brown recluse spiders.

I don't know if anybody else didn't notice this, but the main photo to the video does not show that spider that look like it had a face a mouth and a beard but for half a second. I thought that somebody found a new species of genetically modified/gmo spider... Spider mixed with the DNA of a human face. ... Guess I can say that I'm glad that it's not real, at least by the photo.
