Warriors offered Klay 24 million a year in 2023 -- he said HELL NO! That was an extremely generous offer as he was already in decline. As LowPost explains -- Warriors PAID Klay a MAX even while he was injured. So Warriors have treated Klay very well. But he is not the same player now, and they can't afford to pay an aging reserve 30 or 40 million a year for 3 years if they want to keep the team on life support. It seems as if Klay is refusing to accept the fact that he is in the twilight of his career.

Any teams are willing to pay Klay for 2 years, but he is probably asking for 4 or 5 years. Remember NBA contracts are most of the time guaranteed contracts if you read the fine print.

The warriors did right by klay. If they offer him a smaller contract he should take it or retire or just leave no hard feelings.

My problem with this whole thing is they paid Draymond who has cost them countless games from getting techs etc. But when it's comes to Klay who we all know is reliable and will give you at least 18 a game with average defense, they don't want to give him what he wants. This whole this is coming from Draymond getting that 25 mill. I don't think Klay would have an issue with the offer if they didn't give Draymond that 25mil contract. Player entitlement is one of the he biggest things hurting the NBA right now. I’m not tryna be a pocket watcher bad I love to see a black man get paid-but these players are ridiculous with what they’re asking for. At the end of the day, there is a salary cap. And every year, these top 50 or so guys as well as young high draft picks are getting exorbitant amounts of money they simply don’t deserve-because they’ll leave if they don’t get it. And they’ll handicap their team on a huge contract then ask for a trade a year or two later when their team can’t compete. It’s getting out of hand.

Klay is in no way still really good. I personally cannot wait for Klay to go to another team perhaps there he will finally learn some humility and they can take advantage of what little value he still can provide more effectively than the Warriors can. Right now Klay only cares about Klay, otherwise he'd be asking for something reasonable, say 15-22, that is more in line with his current stats and ability.
