St Regis often announces their hotels are technology advanced as they made the first US hotel with in-suite telephone available 😆

@@gogotravelwithjosh are you going to do a Singapore St Regis? What about Marina Sands?
@gogotravelwithjosh Жыл бұрын
We are sitting on top of Marina Bay Sands now with view of infinity pool at Spago restaurant. We are not staying here rooms are ugly in my opinion. I also want to see the Marina Bay Sands from my room so Ritz view is better and we have a suite there on the highest 31st floor. I have walked around St. Regis but it’s too dated so not staying there. Heading to W Koh Samui tomorrow.

@@gogotravelwithjosh what do you think about Westin In Singapore. I stayed there 6 years ago which was very nice.
@gogotravelwithjosh Жыл бұрын
It is a nice property especially for points but too many other good options. Like the Ritz Carlton, JW Marriott, Andez with Hyatt, and W Sentosa.

I totally agree about what a good check in should be. Instead of for guests asking questions, receptionists should ask questions how to accommodate guests. I wish more hotels having better receptionists. Even Ritz NY I have been to had acted like a machine or AI generated person 😂

I totally agree, it’s not that hard to provide great service. And these hotels pay more to employees and can therefore select only the best staff for the hiring process. So it blows my mind when service is not great when rooms are so expensive and at the luxury properties.
@yunpengw Жыл бұрын
@@gogotravelwithjosh it could be they look for certain kinds of ppl paying good tips to provide better service. US is a tipping country. Many places are forced to tip now.
@gogotravelwithjosh Жыл бұрын
Those types of people then should not be hired at the luxury properties. Service, not tips should be main focus of employees as wages are higher at luxury properties.

I feel like st regis is slowly phasing out their butlers
@yunpengw Жыл бұрын
I hope not
@gogotravelwithjosh Жыл бұрын
They are actually not. It is still part of the St. Regis brand. For some reason though this location just had a slightly different policy I think for Covid. They said that they will eventually provide normal butler service for all rooms. I’m not sure when.
