chair umpire "quiet please this isn't the Australian Open". The Olympic complex with the tennis, aquatics and track and field is beautiful. Looks like some parts could do with some renovations but I love the classic Greco/Roman style and the statues.

Tennis wasn't in the Olympics in 1960. It would take a couple more decades at least before it would be included.

@@Kevin_C_Leonard_63 Its not really relevant to my comment. The tennis stadium and complex was built as part of a larger project built between 1928 and 33 in hopes of Rome being awarded the 1940 Olympic Games. Hence what I called "the Olympic complex". Obviously there ended up being no Olympics in 1940 so its moot what sports were being played or not being played.

For such a big and historic city, the stadiums are very underwhelming. Thanks for informing us about that.

Have been to Rome 3 times and only managed to visit the Olimpico once on a cool winter day 3 years ago. It's nice to mooch around the exterior in all fairness. Stadio Dei Marmi is open to the public and there were people training and running around it, kids playing etc. Was a cool complex. Rome is the best, miss it loads

Stadio Flaminio is abandoned since 2011. It might become a Sport Centre with swimming pools and other sports courts but its future is still unknown.

The tennis centre has also a second court which is called "Stadio Nicola Pietrangeli" and looks amazing with all the statues around it, kind of like the Stadio dei Marmi. For the origins of the stadium, well, let's not dive into that

Since you included Stadio Flaminio, you also could have included Campo Testaccio, which is the former stadium of AS Roma.
