The restoration of Østerbro Stadion was not that recent. In fact, you can't use full length spikes anymore, since the track has been worn thin over the years. But a subpar track is better than no track. Speaking of seating arrangements around a football field, one of the stands in Parken is unsuitable for jumping up and down on. Many football fans are apparently not happy about having to sit and watch football instead.

Great job with the pronunciation, however at 2:52 you would say "grøn pik" it's also used for as a term for people with high academic resume but no actual experience and know how.

Danish grammar lesson. Parken is not translated to park, but "The Park". Park in Danish is just park :)

Royal Arena looks fantastic. Denmark is a top-12 hockey playing country, but I was afraid they wouldn't get as nice an arena as football teams do. Handball is all the best parts of hockey and football, and it can be played anywhere you have a 40m x 20m floor. I wish it were more popular worldwide, you have to wonder why it isn't.
@rerooar14 күн бұрын
As an outsider living in Denmark I can tell you why I think handball isn't more popular (my opinion only of course). Its because its so repetitive, there is no field play at all, just %100 attack or %100 defense. I think anyone new to the sport may just watch basketball instead as it looks more skilled (not saying it is, it just looks more skilled) and is easier to understand when you watch. Personally I'm a mad team sports fan I love and follow sport from all around the world and I find handball pretty boring, you also don't get many upsets because there are so many goals that any errors or great efforts, that in other sports might decide the outcome, get cancelled out in handball by having so many other goals. So you pretty much know who is winning anyway and they almost always do, same in basketball, which I also find pretty boring. And yes Royal arena is fantastic and right next door to a very nice but very under utilized ice hockey rink.

So why is basketball popular? @@rerooar
@guessundheit649413 күн бұрын
@@rerooar Unlike football, or even basketball, handball requires so little equipment or space. It's a game where speed matters, not size, so any country, from the poorest with small populations to the wealthiest with numbers could be competitive. That's the real shame of its low popularity.
@rerooar13 күн бұрын
@guessundheit6494 I'd say the same about football (soccer) and basketball, it's easy to get a game together, you can literally play 1 on 1 basketball with just a 1 hoop and a ball. And football too, just a few friends and you've got a game. Also low risk of injury that keeps you from working. But I think basketball has some high value aesthetics that draw people in like dunks and 3 point shots that are kind of lacking in handball.
@rerooar13 күн бұрын
@mortenpoulsen1496 why ask me? I don't watch it. I mean I have a strong interest in sports marketing and I've read a lot of research about customer segments and can probably have a good go at why it's popular. But I'm pretty sure you just want to argue, right?
