Keep in mind, the guards power trip was not natural ; it was the doctor that coached them on acting in an aggressive way and praising them when they did, similar to the milligram effect. The prisoners were unaware the guards were being told to treat them that way therefore the tension was thick, so even back then just like reality tv now it was staged and forced

Wasn't the experiment falsely conducted? Because from what I've heard and read, the guards were actually initially friendly with the prisoners, but were pushed on by the heads of the experiment to be more aggressive and assertive in their treatments. Edit: Sorry, just finished the trailer. This documentary might dive deep into what I mentioned actually.
