@mindyourbusiness4101 maybe in some states but in the majority of states and on a federal level there is no gun registry. A serial number at most will only tell you who was the last person to buy from a legal gun store was. Cops don't have a way to check this unless a crime was committed with that weapon and can only tell if the serial number was reported stolen
@Telecom186k12 күн бұрын
@@antolivdiaz Steven Dettelbach said there is a federal searchable registry and proved it. I have video proof of him saying so on stage. Plus, when the assassin shot Trump, the feds knew within 30 mins if the gun was stolen or belonged to the shooter. that wouldn't be possible without a seachable data registry. There are too many millions of files to search by hand to know within 30 mins. Steven Dettelbach described the process how they sort, convert to data and store the paper files in shipping containers.

*The belief that a gun can be tracked based on a serial number when used by a career criminal is disturbingly stupid and even a bit profound in gauging just how inherently stupid the people that believe otherwise truly are; it's beyond ignorance.* Felons aren't allowed to have guns and are caught with them on a daily basis in America. In many cases, the serial numbers are still intact. *The only thing this does is potentially help the police trace the chain of custody of the weapon, but that serial number never prevented this weapon getting into a felon's hands.* People that can shoot back are in a much better position than the people *who don't want to because they are afraid of fear itself.*

@QuinnKallisti27 күн бұрын
Those people are operating on the basis that in nearly every country in the world other than the states at the time of purchase the firearm is registered to an individuals ID. So there's at least a beginning point chain of custody to get a lead, and at the very least you could know its manufacture date, and what FFL's it was transferred to prior to sale..... But yeah, for sure, any crim with a "Hot" firearm is most likely going to ditch it and cop another before their next adventure, and I bet they wont be buying from a reputable outlet. It's wild to me that there is no registration, and no safe storage laws in the US, but I totally get it, you give them an inch and they take a mile, which has happened here in Australia.
@MichaelDanieli-vn9wj24 күн бұрын
It's not just the serial number, they do ballistics testing on the pin, and sample the pattern of its unique barrel( by firing it). Scrap the serial and they still find you. I am a European the same thing is happening here there are multiple gangs who have 3D printed guns in their possession even though we have stricter laws on guns and all that it doesn't stop the criminals it's just stops the normal person from having a gun and protecting themselves from criminals like right now there is a criminal on the loose right now where I live he has killed two people with a shotgun because he thought they called the police on him currently there are military police and special and terrorist units hunting him it's been more than 12 days and people are terrified they cannot do anything about it but the locked in their house and pray that he doesn't come in and shoot them

I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT SOME PEOPLE STILL DON'T REALIZE THAT ALL THAT GUN LAWS EVER DO IS MAKE IT HARDER FOR HONEST PEOPLE TO BE SAFE---- NOT CRIMINALS!!!!

@ArtSmosh1274 SO YOU THINK THAT THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT SHOULD HAVE GUNS IN THIS COUNTRY SHOULD BE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS, THE MILITARY, AND CRIMINALS....???? THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE SAYING!!! CRIMINALS ARE ALWAYS ABLE TO OBTAIN GUNS----- USUALLY VERY EASILY!!!! THAT HAS BEEN PROVEN A DIME A DOZEN TIMES!!!!

Ban all guns and you STILL wouldn't solve this problem. People can still manufacture fairly easy. Unless you also start regulating who can buy manufacturing equipment.

semi automatic "assault rifle" does not exist. the definition of an assault rifle specifically means select fire not semi auto. an AR is NOT an M4 or an M16.. smfh. the 2nd ammendment is there for our protection quit trying to undermine it.
