No shame = no embarrassment I however, have second hand embarrassment, shame and cringe over this and it’s enough for me that I’m not using the Stanley anymore. Going back to my reliable Yeti. It’s so gross- and this woman that recorded the crime is absolutely no better, okay sure she stood in line but FFS she stood in line FOR A CUP AND IS DOINF THIS FOR THE CLICKS AND EXPLOITING IT EVEN MORE. It’s all so disgusting.

Remember the toilet paper issue we had at the beginning of the pandemic? It’s the same. When the demand is high and the offer is low, this happens. Also the urgency. It’s not about the cups or toilet paper, it’s about “everyone wants that so they may be right, now I need that”

Well, it would have been unthinkable until the Plandemic ... then the effects of Behavioural Insights Teams and Government spook narratives kicked in and we were watching Salem play out all over again. Marketing is exactly the same. There are always two main camps. In the case of these sippy cups, the brainwashed side who must have one at all costs and the predator side who've spotted an "opportunity" to scam the brainwashed ones. If it wasn't for various psychological experiments (eg Milgram, etc) we'd never have known the vast majority of the people are sheeples, joining in with the narrative, with only a few wondering WTH and a few are predators, waiting to pounce.

Yes! I was thinking this too. It would be easy to limit people to 2, anything more would automatically drop out of your cart. And I know for sure there’s a way to keep people from logging in with more than one account per device by using IP addresses and device ID. It would definitely slow it down so others could have a chance. Release online and don’t tell people they’re limited to 2 until they try to check out 😂

Apparently the people who waited outside for the cups that didn't get one started screaming at staff, accusing them of hiding the cups and saving them for themselves. He also said some people went to the back of the store where the employees entrance is to harass them about the cups. Wtf?

Wasn't there a craze for a skinny hydration cup recently? One thing to note, the media made a big stink about their employees being hurt by Christians being upset because of lgbt merchandise and the devil worshiper that designed the junk. Of course, nothing happened to any employees, but now the target employees are being harassed by cup collecting nut jobs, and the media hasn't said a peep!

Anything made of plastic that leaks is not worth more than $10 I'd pay more for something made of metal that is leakproof and has an ergonomic grip. At the end of the day, they're just cups and the only reason people are buying them is because social media made them seem like the hot new thing and people are just trying to fit in and be popular on social media. Everyone just wants social status on the internet. They think a cup will give them that.

Stanley cups spill at the slightest tip, are impossible to open if you have any sort of dexterity issues, are insanely heavy when full and are no better at keeping things cold/hot than any other insulated cup made of the same materials. And it’s not even that they really care about the quality or function of a product as much as they will claim in an attempt to justify this mindless behaviour, they’re just following the masses of other people, unconsciously being puppets to psychological manipulation without even questioning why they care so much to fight people over something so trivial. These people will just as quickly throw away formerly coveted products in perfect condition which they currently have in their homes so they don’t appear to be hoarders or can claim to be minimalists while simultaneously shopping to excess and acting like they’re possessed to get the next fad product or brand. The wastefulness, not even mainly in Western culture anymore, it’s the entire world, is so out of hand and people will still waste their hard earned money on crap they don’t need, making literal mountains out of waste, destroying our own habitat we desperately need to survive as a species, not to mention the lack of concern for the other living creatures who are not willfully contributing to global extinction which share the planet. I’ll never understand. Although I did seriously feel I needed to have a Cabbage Patch Kid doll when I was a little girl, back when that was the fad. So I guess I understand just a little bit to be fair. But then I grew up and understood the absurdity of consumerism, long before I was even an adult.

I recommend the Owala water bottle instead. It comes in the dual wall steel, or plastic if you prefer. But it has a straw, but you can also pour it instead, and there is a cap that clicks over the entire straw/spout situation, so it wont get dirty. It also has a little hook so it's easy to hold with just your pinky or whatever while you hold other stuff. Definitely recommend over a Stanley.

I've queued for 8+ hours for concerts, so am familiar with this sort of environment. However the key difference is that whenever I've queued for concerts (for the most part) people are respectful, they know their place in the line and stick to it, we make friends and are there for each other even if we are strangers and will likely never see each other again after the show. The fact that people are pushing each other and causing chaos just to get their hands on a CUP is insane. It's just embarrassing, especially if you already have one, as the whole point of the cup is that it is durable.

I swear something about the pandemic made people so much more obsessive over certain products. Any time there's perceived limited stock, there's a group of people hounding to take advantage of the situation, and desperate consumers validate these moves. We saw it with graphics cards, we saw it with game consoles, we saw it with PPE, we saw it with basic hygiene products, and now we're seeing it with these. It's making me want to find and read an academic study about the mentality behind these patterns of behavior
