No this is not a good thing. We as gamers do not deserve to be paying $70 for a game that looks like it’s from the ps3 era. Fixing the game post launch is just a way for executives to see if it’s worth continuing to support it or not. That’s how you end up with crap like the acoloyte that they pushed out just to get some ROI before they sent it to the tax write off realm. We as consumers need to start boycotting games until a trusted source can get around to reviewing it. As a fan of PoP Sand of Time Trilogy, kinda upsetting about Ubisoft; but they're to blame. I recently made a John Wick style action montage using Splinter Cell Blacklist stylish takedowns. Looks really cool. If only we got a proper John Wick game that way, Ubi could license and stay afloat. They have all the right tools already. No more taking real gamers for granted.

No other industry gets away with selling broken and faulty products like the gaming industry does. Someone really needs to bring them into line with other production standards. If I buy a car and get told that the steering wheel and rear wheels will be 6 months later. Also interior linings will be a year, and the paint job would be nearly 2. I would be seen as well within my rights to tell them to get real, ask for money back and a business like that would shut. I have said for years there should be an independent governing body, for quality control and games testing to protect consumers in the gaming space. There should be a gaming standards agency.

In general they seriously need to stop overestimating sales, times have changed and prices have gone up making it harder for probably half of the world to purchase as many games as they like at launch or even a month later and I say that for every gaming company not just Ubisoft. Btw Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is 100% broken for a ton of people where it’s completely unplayable after downloading the DLC and yet they still haven’t fixed that yet either so yeah it’s making the most loyalist of fans even bail ship when there are massive leaks that need to be fixed alone if they just want to keep their customers but at this point they need to re-earn everyone’s trust that they have ruined. Don't get what people want, I've been playing this game for weeks and so far I've been enjoying it. From what I can make out most of the complaints is that it was too hard to play, which is the reason I love it, way to many games are so easy to play they quickly get boring so hopefully they will not change this game to make it easier. Punch theory: I speculate that (maybe) Kay was meant to have some sort of dagger for close range combat and stealth takedowns, but powers that be (Disney) said it was too violent, so they slightly retooled the animations, making stabs into punches, and throat slicing to chokeholds 🤷🏼‍♂️. Could be completely wrong, but my play through of the game gave me that impression, particularly when it was often QUICKER to run up and punch a storm trooper TO DEATH than blasting them.

They choose for the game to be PEGI 12, so you can't have too realistic violence, kill civilians or even if you smuggle drug at time in the game they never explicitely mention it is drug. It was probably a mistake and a PEGI 16 version would have worked better ?

This very much the MO of Massive Entertainment. If you have played Division 1 or Division 2 (still playing) they take live service gaming very seriously. Both those games had significant changes to the gameplay mechanics post launch. If they follow the same methodology with outlaws expect to see a PTS period before they make a major change.

I really enjoyed Outlaws, but I also liked Squadrons, and I've been told I'm wrong for enjoying it. Those same people said Bf2 was better, but I've also met folks who say that Bf2 is for shills and that battlefront 2 (2005) is the only acceptable game. I'm so sick and tired of listening to people sharing their hot takes on Star Wars games. Not because I don't think people are entitled to their opinions, they certainly are, but because were going to reach a point where nobody is going to make any more games because "fans" are going to hate on everything eitherway. I would've loved this game growing up. My kid enjoyed it despite believing it was going to suck because he heard some youtubers criticizing it. I even caught my wife, who has never played any kind of modern console game, walking around Tatooine at 4 in the morning. She's now trying out Star Wars flight sims. Can we please stop making perfect the enemy of good?

I appreciate someone saying this, honestly. I agree, the star wars community is kind of set on hating new content. For example, take Acolyte. While I wasn't a fan of the lore aspect of it or the dialogue, I can understand why some people liked it so much, and I enjoyed the action sequences and the cinematography aspect. Meanwhile, everyone raged about it and when the second season was cancelled, people celebrated for some reason. While it might not be everyone's favorite star wars content, it's still new, you know? Give it more of a chance. And that goes not just for acolyte or andor or the sequels or outlaws or whatever. I personally love outlaws and haven't had any issues with bugs other than some genuinely funny visual errors, but none of them alter gameplay.

I could’ve told you this was always going to happen. First mistake. Trusting Nix not to steal anything that isn’t nailed down.Second mistake using a game engine that’s been in use since 2008 almost 17 years. And then not including a snap to cover for stealth. Which really wasn’t that bad the way they employed it. But being a former player of the division 1 and 2 I tried like hell to find a bind key for that kind of option no dice. Second they need to improve video ram optimization among other things.

My Wild Cards experience will be very different from yours. My Kay will be happy to beat Lando again. She already bear him once (Using a cheating trick he taught her no less) and she's learned new ways to cheat since then. Edit: What's wrong with punching Stormtroopers? Unless they add a vibroblade to Kay's arsenal what can they do? Making Stormtroopers melee proof is a terrible idea IMO.

My thing with stealth is they need to reward good stealth play. There is too many fire fight set pieces. The problem with that is the fire fights are not fun. Either give us more blasters to play with were you are not just locked to whatever you can pick up, or allow our stealth gameplay to work in most situations and the gun fights be last resorts not set pieces. Also as a side note maybe making Excellent rank give you more access to bases, it seems weird that you are still trespassing even though they fully trust you. I know it might be seen as that would just break the difficulty of the game, but if that is a worry just make it harder to get to Excellent rank. And to tie into that make alternate story elements based on how you are doing with different factions. It seems like they leaned a bit heavy into the Crimson Dawn, I feel like you should have different cut scenes based on how you are doing with different factions. (they can still default to a faction if you max rank all of them but just to give variety) Also without giving spoilers certain missions should play out differently if you have a good rep with certain factions. (as a hint Nix)

It's very hard to feel good about the money I spent on Outlaws when I feel like I have to become a visual engineer to make my game look and run passably good on my decent gaming PC. It feels like it's sluggish and doesn't resolve well, whereas I can fire up Ghost of Tsushima and everything is just beautiful, and runs smoothly. There's a disconnect happening here where they ask a very high price (which indulged in with my soft spot for Star Wars) for something to come out and be problematic, at best. All the same, I really hope improvements keep happening and I can experience the story. I hear it's a good one. And I've enjoyed the story I did get to play.

Nowhere did Ubisoft actually state that they’re overhauling the game. Fixing bugs, “polishing” and “tweaking” gameplay, and QOL changes in combat/stealth are NOT overhauls. They’re being extremely careful with their wording here. Is it possible that they’ll overhaul core systems like the ridiculous bare-fisted punches? Yes. Is it likely? No. But as always, I admire your optimism Andrew, even if I don’t necessarily share it

I am complaining because the game breaks and crashes in several situations. I have been told by Ubisoft to sit tight and wait. Lots of folk on PS5 especially are encountering issues. It's on reddit but hidden by general msm. I live the game when it has worked and for what I have got to play. I just want to be able to play the game I paid full price for. Outside of bugs and crashes, Ai needs improving, as well as Nix doesn't always work. I would add manual firing from speeder as well. It sucks being chased and shot at waiting on the meter for dead eye. That would be OK as a special move, but they should at least allow the player to shoot at enemies whilst being chased and shot at. Even if it was disabled outside of that.

We all know games CAN have comebacks, like Cyberpunk and No Man’s Sky, but honestly I think AAA gaming generally is cooked. We need fewer games released generally with more care put in, because these studios’ wants for us to buy a brand new game every other month don’t match up with the quality of the games people expect even if they could afford to do that. I like to think I have reasonable standards when going to the cinema (although I did watch Meet the Spartans when that released) but if I’m only spending £10-15 and an hour and a half of my time on a ticket I’m less inclined to care if it’s bad, but companies shouldn’t shovel any old crap my way and expect me to pay through the nose and then sit there and play it for 50 hours or however long.

Many people were expecting Jedi Survivor but with Blasters and were disappointed. I might buy this IF they improve the Key Vess model. They uglified her apart from the woman she's based on, and a lot of people didn't like that. Having a pretty female character doesn't make her immediately sexual in any way. She would just be easy to look at.

Stick it on medium settings it makes basically no difference also i limited it to 60fps and didnt notice a difference except now my gpu is 40 degrees and not 75. Crashing and loading issues are gone. Artifacting inst fab still thats a problem with the game itself but give lower settings a try and you can actually play it

Maybe they should have spent less time and resources on eating and more time and resources on making gameplay that people want. I don’t think this game is going to experience a resurgence like BF2 did; I think Ubisoft had one chance and they really blew it.

I was shocked, AC Odyssey was amazing, I recently played Valhalla on game pass and was very surprised with the content and quality, and then we get outlaws with a few days worth of content and looped NPC tracks that make the game feel older and more dated than it’s predecessors.

Same here. I keep hearing reviewers say Outlaws is just a reskinned AC game, and I wish that were true. AC games have much better climbing, weapons, and means of getting around. You can basically climb anything. Don’t like your horse, take someone else’s. Need a new weapon, you’ll have one in a minute. None of this is possible in Outlaws. The game teases the players with rideable creatures they can’t ride, speeders everywhere they can’t steal, and weapons galore they can’t collect…

After releasing a game that was "ready" for more than a month, they finally decide to actually polish their game. Unlike good companies who do it before launch, ubisoft strive (and thrives) to release lower-than-standards game at a higher than standard price tag. Why do damage control when they could just.. put effort and quality into their stuff? That's not how they'll come out of the bankruptcy hole they've dug.
