frankly there is no reason for the blasters to have any jump rng with how much commitment each shot requires AND the points for special needs to be lowered drastically for all of them to reasonably charge their specials. If stuff like tri and nzap can have 180p across the board while being ridiculously good at painting the devs have to stop pussyfooting around potentially making range playable again especially since its their fault for not giving more weapons godlike kits in S1.

@@awkwardess mate are you alright? It paints so well it basically gets it's special for free ESPECIALLY nouveau with fizzy. It's whole niche is getting cooler so fast it can just run special saver, qr, and whatever the hell it wants after that and get great results

I'm convinced Nintendo hates Dynamo and are too afraid to buff it, no doubt about it. They even nerfed it at the start of Splatoon 3 (it did less damage than Splatoon 2's dynamo with no MPU), it was only after they "buffed" it during Ver. 2.1.0 (because of no MPU in Splatoon 3) that it does about the same damage as it did in splatoon 2 with no MPU. The only buff it has gotten in Splatoon 3 wasn't even a buff, it was a fix. I really want this weapon to become viable.

Dynamo unfortunately kinda falls into the “casual hell” weapon group that they don’t touch that much, like most blasters, rollers and clash.

Casual hell. It can be really hard to deal with good dynamo players since dynamo covers an insane amount of area and deals great chip dmg. It is really easy to get one shot by it. Aside from getting rid of the rng factor, and buffing vert flick, idk what else it needs.

@@vincentngo3409 I think overall yeah it just needs better minimum damage and damage scaling. Vertical flick has been hard power crept especially with stamper in the game, heck even wiper.

I've made so many memories with Dynamo in Splatoon 3 but unfortunately I haven't really been using it lately due to the fact that it just has BIG flaws. Unlike most, I genuinely love the kit VDynamo has. Sprinkler for movement and Tacticooler to encourage a more exciting, aggressive playstyle. The highs are high (getting Tacticooler and singlehandedly wiping your opponents' team) but the lows are soo so very low... (getting parried or completely botching a shot that you could've done some other time etc.)

Dynamo has always been my favorite weapon in the entire Splatoon series, and is probably one of the big reasons I played Splatoon 1 during most of Splatoon 2's lifespan

Dynamo flick having rng and slow start up is crazy, like the flick can straight up miss, you do a pitiful amount of damage at a decent range, and the ohko range is somehow less than splash The high risk high reward balance has been thrown out the window since S2 and its so sad to see that dynamo was at one point one of the best weapon in the game...

I hate dynamo, cuz my weapon is too inconsistent to deal with its bs, but i do find the rng factor stupid. I would much prefer the weapon have a consistent aoe and maybe a blindspot to adjust for it.

Give tri stringer auto bomb and it becomes area denial. Can cut off people running from the autobomb with the Explosive bolts and maybe even even combo with it. For even more area denial rain or wave would also be great. Would definitely be an interesting kit, idk how competitive tho

Imo, tri-bow with a slightly stronger kit and two or three people pushing it would make it a very good AoE pick. I think it can play well alongside a BP/Heavy/charger in a more skirmisher/support position. Fizzy/Splat/Burst/Suction/Autobomb with a wave/crab/rain/booyah/im probably forgetting a good special or two. Hell, I'd argue a sprinkler would even help it if the special is good, kinda like Vheavy now. So much potential and so many good kits that are possible. I will stand by my bow untill the end of time. And knocking on wood, watch it get wall+slider or something XD

Tri-stringer with wave could be really scary imo because damage from the explosive arrows can combo with the special well, and the location effect plays more into its ability to snipe over cover too.

@@noodlearms9385Yeah, but considering the time to explosion is slow and you only get three arrows to hit two directly with/create the AoE with, i'd say its fair. Vheavy would play off wave more directly, tri-bow a bit more indirectly. Kinda like how splash and dualies both get crab, but play differently around it.

@@Blahydra I wouldn't be disappointed with wall, then at least we'd might get a better chance against chargers/splatlings. But surely they're not THAT trolly to give it Slider, right? I don't even see the use for it being on the Tri-Stringer. Honestly, I wouldn't mind having point sensor as the sub either. While mist slows down the enemies it only happens inside the radius, while point sensor lasts for a bit once hit. Combine that with Thermal Ink and boom, you got eyes on your opponents everywhere they go - well, at least in kid form if point sensor wears off. And again, people don't really want to swim right into a point sensor; slight area denial. Then to REALLY be an annoyance, Wavebreaker would be amazing. I see it a more viable special on the Tri-Stringer than let's say the E-liter because of closer positioning to threaten the opponents more. The bow itself isn't a really bad painter too since it'd most likely be inking over enemy turf so more Wavebreakers can come out. And, if they get hit, location revealed, 45 damage done, easily comboed with explosive bolts or straight up Tri-Stringer skill. Ah well, a guy can dream.

I been playing rapid blaster deco since it release and i have so much fun since then and i always watch your kensa rapid gameplay to get better. I was so sad when they nerf rapid deco in the last patch but that doesn't mean i'm gonna stop playing it

I can speak a little on Luna, I think it should possibly be given a couple frames faster fire rate (like tri got in 2 actually) and also the reduced endlag that regular blaster was blessed with. And at a stretch MAYBE also give it a slightly bigger blast radius, not as big as 92 and Clash but around halfway between that and what it has now. But in general for blasters I think they should overall get more object damage, and that would make Luneo a funny rainmaker weapon sometimes lol

Rapid Pro Deco has been my go-to weapon ever since the season started. Even with the Angle Shooter being a bit difficult to work with, it's really a lot better than a lot of people give it credit for, with this specific kit. Since a direct hit with the blaster is 85, sub defense can't stop its combo unless its run in excess, and the location effect helps with locking people down in awkward spots and confirming kills. Plus, it very handily makes Ballpoint uncomfortable, forcing the Inkjet to target it down because its range lets it punish overextended Inkjets for free, even with the absurd boost height. It still struggles on certain maps and modes and could be improved, but I really believe the sum of its parts is much much greater than people think.

For blasters, I honestly think that your RNG out of a squid surge should be half of what your normal spread is. For example, if you normally do 8 degrees jumping on land, then you should do 4 from off a wall, and this would stack with any intensify action equipped.

My issue with the sloshing machine nerf was that all it did was put it in line with all the other AoE weapons as being underpowered. If they ever do buff other AoEs so the playstyle isn't so weak, Machine will be left behind when it could have been in a good spot if they didn't nerf it so hard and just buffed other options. The reason machine was so dominant wasn't because it was OP, but because everything else that filled it's niche was weak.

sloshing machine absolutely was op, it was never supposed to be able to fight that well especially in close quarters, that shit was not ok it was made to be longer ranged, aoe, shoot over walls ect but pre patch machine could fight like a dawn tri slosher, nerf was deserved

With how weapons like Dynamo and Octobrush were in Splatoon 1, given things like critical damage on Octobrush and just the general bustedness of Dynamo on release as well as the inclusion of damage-up in that game, it makes sense why Nintendo wouldn't want to repeat their mistakes. But at the same time the balancing of Splatoon 3 vs Splatoon 1 is so different that they're basically entirely separate game genres that happen to have the same funny squiddo kid skin applied to them. For a lot of the weapons mentioned in the video their kits getting buffed or receiving new kits will probably not be enough to set them apart from everything else. A good portion of them are simply outclassed by weapons in the same category, and need to be significantly tuned or fundamentally changed to provide a niche that the other weapons in the same class can't.

True, they just took everything that's annoying about Blasters (huge AOE hitbox and ability to hit around corners) and made it 10x worse. Instead of the AOE only being at the end of the shot, it's active for the whole time, so you don't need spacing. It also has better paint and fire rate, minimal white ink frames, a godlike kit that can even work at 220p, and generally is just a better Blaster mechanically. (NO JUMP RNG!)

7:20 I recently picked up Blaster a few months ago and it's become my favorite weapon in the series. Never have I vibed more with a weapon since S2 CDS. The opening gambit buffs make this weapon go from bad to unironically top 10 imo.

Tri Stringer would be helped a lot by a duration or ink efficiency buff to Toxic Mist. Area Size wouldn't hurt either. The sub is really useful for what the kit uses it for, but it's overcosted for the (lacking) longevity of the effect.

I will stand by tri-stringer until the end of time. With one good kit of any bomb (besides curling) or sprinkler to paint and a good special like rain/booyah/crab/whatever (strike, zooka also would work). There is sooooo much potential in that weapon but imo mist/wail is a bit to passive. A kit that can paint a bit and a bit more agressive special and I am sure it can be run alongside BP/Heavy with it having the most flexibility with its five shot types. Would need people dedicating themselves to it as it is a bit of a hard weapon to grasp, but i am sure people can make it work.

I've been playing primarily AOE weapons for most of Splatoon 3, primarily most sloshers and rapid blasters. Sloshing machine nerfs helped with making more options viable, but overall it showed how much better off it was compared to other AOE weapons. The main buffs I wanna see is to angle shooter, because slosher deco and RBPD are both some of my favorite weapons atm and I would love to see the sub be a lot more consistently useful. Rapid blaster deco's special nerf made me really upset, and just felt super unnecessary. I'd especially would want to see a lot of blasters get good changes because most of the weapons in the class take time to really get the hang of, and the payoff for learning them isn't terrible, but their glaring weaknesses that make them worse higher level is really frustrating. I am admittingly more casual, but I've really enjoyed spectating and want to follow the comp scene a lot, I'm just wishing to see a lot of the weapons I enjoy using get their moment every now and then, and just more diversity in team comps in general.

Vblaster has a small gimmick with big bubble where you can shoot, pop it, and then shoot immediately after which is quicker than waiting for your other shot to be ready to fire

that's not how animation cancel works, it doesn't shoot faster, it just looks like this way because it's spending it's entire shot cooldown setuping bubble even if that's true you're not trading Range's Wavebreaker for a slightly faster shot every minute

I'd argue it should get a 20% range buff, and increase the minimum damage from 40 to 70, so the damage scales way better. That way, it can hit like a truck even at max range, and it's OHKO range would be way longer than before, making it significantly more dangerous than it is now. Also, 20% longer painting range would make it decent for painting as well.

At this point the only thing they could really try with Luna is to just give it perfect accuracy by default since the OHKO's basically all it has to beat Tri and RNG would be the only way to try and even marginally separate from S'Blast. But yeah, there's no hope unless they mega buff it.

I love Range Blaster in this Game so much. Is actually not that bad, I got S+50 first season just playing that weapon, Octobrush, Explosher and Hydra. I would say I didn't have a Big problem to get Wave breaker like you say, but is because I Run the hability to get special faster on the shows and ink main saver for the rest because after using a bomb is painful... A little buff just making It like 190 or 180 would be not that bad... And the same in Salmon Run. 92 now does more damage directly (300) than Range or Luna (250) when un PvP is the same for every one of them(125). Why can't be the same? Is like they wanted to kill all blasters making 92 better on everything than the others, is not fun.

I know it's not really the point of this video but the dynamo segment really highlights how stupid it is that you have to aim almost directly downwards for roller verticals. I really hope they change it to match the horizonal reticle because having to readjust how you aim for a firing mode that is already more difficult is dumb

Explo main here, feels good to hear Chara say what this weapon needs because the community is straight-up incorrect about the main weapon being "fine." Most people are just scared of it being strong again like it was in S2, but no one's using this weapon right now outside of *maybe* zones, and even then there are better options. The weapon falls off in competitive very quickly for many reasons. Its frame data is not good enough and you'll die many times before getting your second shot, even if you landed first. Not to mention it already needs a specific comp to work with it and protect it. I agree about the shot speed needing a buff and since it wasn't addressed, the next kit having something like angle/wavebreaker would be good, or burst/anything but reef. It already dies for free to inkjet so there's nothing to be done there except help it run away better, that's where angle and burst can help it for traversal. As someone who mained it from the beginning of S3, it's gotten progressively weaker each season and I one-tricked it long enough (roughly 800 hours) enough to tell you guys what areas it's lacking in.

My idea to buff Blasters is to drastically increase their object damage. I think it's dumb how the explosive weapons of this game are also some of the worst at breaking objects. I mean, if youre fighting a mech, what should do more damage, a gun or a rocket launcher? I think that turning this weakness into a strength will make Blasters a lot better in high level play, in a way that won't make them more annoying in casual play. The idea is that the Blasters will receive 2 buffs. 1: All Blasters that can one shot now deal 140 damage with directs. (instead of 125) I think it just makes more sense, the maximum damage an indirect can do is 70, so make directs twice as powerful. 2. All Blasters will get consistent damage multiplers across the board, so they deal the same damage to any object in the game. However, this only applies to directs. The splash damage will still do a maximum of 70 damage. Clash, Rapid, Rapid Pro, and the long range mode of S-Blast will have a 1.5x damage multiplier against objects. Luna, Blaster, and the short range mode of S-Blast will have a 2x damage multipler against objects. Range Blaster will have a 2.5x damage multiplier against objects. With these changes, Blasters went from some of the worst weapons at breaking objects, to some of the best in the game. However, only direct hits will deal massive damage to objects, while indirect shots will still deal very low damage, so it requires skillful aiming to get this massive damage. Range Blaster especially will become one of the best object destroyers in the game, since 140 x 2.5 is 350, so it can 2 shot Crab Tanks, Tent shields, and in general deal massive damage to objects with directs.

@@apersonwhomayormaynotexist9868 Because Range is way slower, has more endlag, has more white ink frames, has worse ink efficiency, has a slower fire rate, and is supposed to be the "slow but strong" weapon in the Blaster class, while VBlaster is just the normal one. It's like comparing Splat Roller to Dynamo Roller. Of course the one that's slower and has way more extreme weaknesses should have more extreme strengths to compensate.

Luna is probably one of the most screwed weapons in the game, at least Clash is... different, with how it "works". Luna lacks an identity at all once you factor other weapons with AoE, and I can't even begin to think of how to unscrew it.

Do you think making tri-strike work like splatoon 1 and 2 bomb launcher would be too much. I personally feel it wouldn't be as bad as those specials applied constant lethal pressure for like 9 second along with the main weapon and full movement. Tri-strike cant do that due to its long windup before the strikes actually attack as well as the limited number and short duration of the strikes.

Better coverage and vertical flick damage could save dynamo without making it too good imo. It just needs to be more consistent. It’s such a fun weapon and would add a lot to the game tbh

ngl a buff I want much more for explosher over the other two is less movement endlag after firing, there is no goddamn reason you should be a borderline statue for like 2 seconds after each shot when it just guarantees you are screwed in close quarter fights. Thankfully unlike range you can actually jump for some momentum but its such an unnecessary weakness in a super fast game.

As someone who mains Explo, I will always love Explo buffs. Personally I'd love to see the main shot damage buffed from 55-65, that way a well aimed shot can one-shot but the AoE damage isn't buffed so it doesn't become toxic. Faster shot speed would be cool but not mandatory if it got the Damage buff I'd like, and YES IT NEEDS BETTER OBJECT DAMAGE. 100% agree on that, mainly because it can struggle against Chumps and would help keep Bubbler in check if it ever got overbuffed. Aside from that, I'm hoping to see its alt kit soon. Weirdly enough, I'd love to see Alt Explo get either Toxic Mist or Autobomb for the Sub and Killer Wail as the special. Having Sub+Special that helps it fight better as a backliner and takes advantage of the ability to get opponents stuck with the main shots. Vexplo would be the painter because Ink Storm, Alt Explo more of the fighter.

Please no, Explosher being able to essentially one shot you during Ink Storm is already incredibly annoying, and now you want it to be able to do it all the time? Shot speed is a fine buff, but just making it one shot would make it super obnoxious .

I think, as much as one may hate the idea, the devs might just be holding out on any drastic buffs or great kits to play into the the drip feed design philosophy of the game. It might be another year or so until we get a decent kit for every unique weapon type; with shooters and brellas at opposing sides of that spectrum in terms of quality usage at the moment

Is it just me or was 4.0.0 balance patch actually solid because the nerfed weapons are still at worst a high tier weapon and Sloshing Machine got its well deserved nerf and the higher ink efficiency was a little much for Splatana Stamper but overall solid patch.

If you to were to rework Clash Blaster to make it healthy and balanced what you do because most people don't want it to be a High/Top Tier, unlike basically every weapon where people wanted it to be a good meta weapon. 🔫

Personally i think adding a charge effect to it would be really interesting. You can still tap tap to get the rapid shots, but an ohko charge up could allow it to move forward. It would no doubt need a nerf to compensate

i pray to the gods they just sacrifice vsplash or sword at this point if they touch burst bomb vimi will 100% never recover. ist already on life support after getting fragged because of vwiper and vsplash/stamper. i really hope they stop collateraling every niche mid tier weapon because some high tier with the same sub or special does funky shit

As a dynamo main everything you said it is true. I tend to switch to big swig if calls for it since it does what dynamo wants to be but better. And the way I would buff that weapon is this: reduce the paint rng and buff the damage of the outer hit box becuase I’m tired of hitting people right in front of me and they only take 40 and I die for it

I would personally remove the RNG from the flicks, and make it default to the best possible RNG always. Technically a painting buff, because now every flick will be the equivalent to the best possible RNG, and will make the weapon consistent. As for the vertical flick, increase it's range by 20%, and increase the minimum damage from 40 to 70, so it scales way better and has a significantly longer OHKO range. Making it hit like a truck even at max range, and be able to threaten a OHKO at mid range. Also, 20% longer range means it also paints more with the vertical flick, so that could be useful as well. With these 2 buffs, Dynamo could be a solid weapon, not top tier, but just good enough so that if it gets a good kit, it could be great.

The entire Blaster class should get piercing direct shots and 10 points toward their special when they get a direct splat and 5 points with an indirect splat (RB, RBP, and CB only on the direct shot that splats an opponent), and remove jump RNG for all blasters but the jump shot would have the radius of the Rapid Blasters, meanwhile giving some ink efficiency, mobility, or downtime nerfs with blasters that would be overturned with these buffs .

Better coverage and vertical flick damage could save dynamo without making it too good imo. It just needs to be more consistent. It’s such a fun weapon and would add a lot to the game tbh

Yeah, most casual players only use the horizontal flick anyway, so buffing the vertical flick won't affect them as much, since even if it was good, it still requires WAY more aim and better timing than the horizontal, so it requires a lot of skill to use effectively.
