Where blizzard should go on this new endgame: I don't think there is anything they can do with this format that will make this something that people want to grind (i.e like grinding pits) so even if they make it "faster" or "more fun" they have to avoid this being the meta for the grinding. To properly tune this based on difficulty, time, and rewards is so FREAKING EASY, it sounds like Blizzard needs to hire an economist and not a programmer for season1,3,5 development team. TIME TO UNLOCK a tier 8: to run a tier 8 infernal it should be about the 2x the time it would take for someone to SSF mats and stygian stones to do a tormented duriel/andy boss. so if a SSF player can get say 1x duriel runs from 2 hrs of gameplay. the tier 8 unlock should be 1x from 4 hrs of gameplay; TIME TO COMPLETE a tier 8 -. obviously the concept of wave mechanic is going to make this something that will take longer than farming a duriel kill; they should be targeting runs that take 7 to 10 mins to fully complete a tier 8. REWARDS: The rewards / drop rate / quality of gear; should be about 2x what a person gets from a tormented duriel/andy run DIFFICULTY: a little bit hard to quantify based on s5 powers being all over the place, so let use season 4 references based on live server: Tier 8 should probably be somewhere between 125 to 135 pit difficulty level. You want it to be hard obviously; but you also want it to be achievable; because ultimately you still want people to use this as an avenue to gear up and allow them to become more powerful for PIT PUSHING. This format should be fun and rewarding similar to tormented boss kills NOT for pushing limits of a character build (PITS). Also the lower tiers should be properly tuned as well based on time and rewards. So a tier 7 takes less time to 25% less time to open from mats; has a 25% lower difficulty (so now we are maybe pit 100 to 120 equivalent), but has a 25% to 40% reduction in loot drop quality / rates. Why is simple economy math so hard for blizzard.

Honestly feel like Rob is gettng out of touch with the community. He lives and works with the game, unlike the rest of us. he has tons of people to play with, again. The average person, these changes are helpful, but needs to be more. Gold is bad, maybe not when you have no life outside of the game and its your job. Every class needs to bring itself up to Barb level. I have 4 lvl 100s and have yet still to see an Uber unique. Rerollling is WAYY to much. ROB you need to look at the perspective of the players that play CASUALLY not the 1% that lives and breathes the game. I dont play bc Farming gold is a bitch and annoying. Easy for you to say you wont run out with 20 bill. You should do a season Rob where you play as much as a Casual would. Few days a week, 4 to 5 hour stints and See what the experience is, rather then pretending to know and think its not a problem.

Came here to say this. Rob is so Barb biased it's hilarious. Compare any of the non-bugged builds of any class to WW barb or the next 5 best Barb builds, and all the other classes are worse and require much better builds to get anywhere close. For 3 seasons now, get a barb to level 80, with some bad gear and half of the right aspects and you can get farther than a level 100 druid with BIS gear lol

I think Raxx's point was more that rerolling on the PTR is too expensive. Players don't necessarily have the time to get optimal gear through farming etc so they need to make enchanting on the PTR much cheaper for testing purposes. He specifically was trying to test a chain lightning build and getting that +3 CL is pretty mandatory to test it.

and like many people have been saying, which is the quickest, easiest, and best solution: Kill player-to-player trading and implement the AH. The gold-sellers would be eliminated overnight. Problem is, who is to say that Blizzard isn't involved in botting and gold-selling.. But if people really want the over-inflated economy to be fixed, player-to-player trading needs to be eliminated. Then if need be, cap the AH prices to say no more than 500 million for any given item. Yes it would hurt the bot/gold-sellers, and yes it would hurt people who treat D4 like a job, but that's fine, because those people are few and far between.

If this is done, you would spend less gold/mats on enchanting and have more gold for masterworking and other things. This would be a far better solution to simply reduce enchanting gold costs and would help casuals out a lot. Let's also consider hypotheticals, let's assume Blizzard adjusts gold so you get 100x, you'll then run into the problem streamers like Rob are facing running out of angelbreath. Now you're time gated by angelbreath which you need to spend hours in Helltide farming; did this solve anything? I don’t think this is a fair critique. Rob is inputting his ideas. He asked for resets for Uber bosses in the dungeon WITHOUT leaving the dungeon, and it got implemented in the PTR. He can do this by commenting on other streams or making his own streams, in which he has. Are you saying you want him to influence Blizzard to only cater to casuals? Not sure where you are going with this. I’m all for constructive criticism but your comment isn’t really one that’s justified.

Yeah I end a season with 300M, usually get 1 character to 100 and spend a bunch for sure so I'm sitting with my Sorc for Season 4 at around 270M after upgrades and some rerolling but when rerolls get to $1M I stop as it seems like I'm gonna be in the same mess Raxx was in here I waste all my gold and then I'm broke for a week. Frankly, I want to do other games too in my 2 hours a day sometimes so having a season last for 15 playing days is good then I have time to do other games to in the 3 month window

Rob the part about the Gold is complicated. I played most of the season without trading, I had massive gold problems even after the capping of gold cost for enchanting. After I started trading, gold was no longer the issue for enchanting anything except trading for 3-GA items, I was capped on crystals mostly. So as long as there is no in-game trading available I think it is fair to say gold is not that ubiquitous as you make it seem.

I don't even think giving a Sorc 10 enchantment slots would equal the extra stats, aspects, stat boosts, Greater affixes, and extra weapon sockets the Barbs get with their 4 weapons. The 4 weapons has to go, or give every class 4 weapons.

Re-rolling and masterworking by themselves are significant gold sinks if you don't engage with the third party trade website. Blizzard should absolutely NOT be adjusting/balancing the game to solve problems introduced by a third-party trade websites and RMT.

You are wrong about the gold issue. You HAVE to trade to not have gold issues and the vast majority of people are never going to trade. These things don't impact you so you don't see it. I have done plenty of 3rd party trading in PoE, but in D4 the system is terrible and even though I've been able to play a ton this season gold is still an issue.

By pressing a button, you can send the seller an automatic message directly into the game, which will also highlight the corresponding item in his inventory. They don’t? I’m using a double swing dust devil barb. And I’m pretty well optimized. And I’m able to kill 200 bosses pretty easily. I hit for 2-7 mill per swing. So please tell me what these trillions of health lvl 200 bosses are because I don’t see them. Like I said. Half a billion is huge and the speed he was spamming that at will melt 200 bosses and he’s calling that underwhelming. He’s so out of touch and not even playing the same game as 99.999% of us. For us dad's who can only play a couple hours a day, you know, cus kids & shit, the gold is a real problem. Like I have to spend one or two nights just farming gold so I can afford to temper potentially better gear I have in my stash the next night. I love your vids and your guides for strong and really fun builds, but my dude, you are a streamer, you obviously love the game and gold doesn't feel like a big deal to you, but when you can only play a couple hours in the evening to unwind after work and kids are taken care of, if I have to spend most of that time farming gold, it's a problem. I'll never push a tier 150 pit, and I'll never get higher than rank 700 on the gauntlet, I'm okay with that, those things go to the people who sink way more time into the game than I do. I don't want a participation trophy, but I would love it if I didn't have to sink so much time into farming for gold, and I don't wanna go to a trading website, I just wanna slay some monsters and fucking relax after doing dad shit all day. At this point I'm about done for the season, I'm happy D4 is going in the right direction, and I'm hyped for S5, but the resource imbalance is making then end game just feel like a slog.

Rax made a fair comment. Druids and Sorcs, IN GENERAL, are in a bad place. In season 4, immortal sorc was #1 (Higher PIT) but that doesn't mean SORC was the best class overall. I mostly play with Barbs and Rogue. Barb by far the easiest and strongest class. We all have to accept that. Rob is not being realistic. He was testing PTR, like others in PTR, fully gear with other 3 folks fully geared. 99% of the community is not playing in a party of four with fully geared folks.

All of my items are 12/12 masterworked but to say that gold isn't a problem is extremly ignorant and selfish. I got a really nice ring yesterday and some stats are insanly difficult to roll, it took me 500 mil gold to both roll and masterwork that item. If I didn't trade on Diablo trade I would not be able to have 5-10 bil gold to do stuff like that or masterwork and roll my items. Either fix the stat weight or lower the cost of rerolling/masterworking cuz it's completely broken right now, unlike you I see it through an open perspective and not only through my own selfish experience. It is a problem and can get better, what they could do is make it rotate when reroll stats to make it more balanced and give people a chance to get the roll they want for the item.

I have 3 level 100s this season and have put in quite a bit of time and the only time I had more than 200mil gold was when I traded my stigian stones on my 3rd character. Gold is definitely an issue to the majority of players.

First off, let me start by saying that you're def my favorite, most engaging D4 content creator. Always getting me excited to play Barb every season. Always coming with content that makes me want to #D4Login BUT 13:20 - When we KNOW for a fact that the crazy numbers that we're seeing with Barb & Sorc are coming from Bugs, just as we saw with Frozen orb & Hurricane in the last PTR. We know these things aren't going to see the light of day on live. Of course these things need to be highlighted to the D4 devs in the PTR, since that's what the PTR is for. But to say that Druid & Sorc are fine knowing that, outside of these bugged uniques and abilities, they're still performing abysmally. While Barb continues to be the most consistent and top performing class in the game when these bugs/exploits are taken out of the equation, highlighting these outliers without advocating for actual balance when we know that these classes will still be underperforming once these things are fixed before the live iteration (as proven by the S4 PTR) seems incredibly disingenuous as someone that enjoys more than just one class every season.

It would be nice if they changed how the mobs spawned in the event. Instead of spawning a bunch at once, then waiting ages for more to respawn, make it so there is a constant stream of mobs spawning and depending on how many are alive/dead they could spawn even faster. It would be nice if they changed most events to be like this. I hate it when I start a cursed event and clear away every single mob except for one that ran into a different room, preventing the next wave from spawning.

ONLY reason gold isnt a problem, is real money trading. Even if YOU luckily loot an item you can sell for 5 billion, that means someone had to buy like 3-5 billion with credit card to buy it from you. Without RMT that item would be 500mil, not 5 bil.

Resplendent sparks should also be used to add a GA to your gear. Let us choose which stat on our gear that we already have to make it a GA with a Resplendent Spark.

Rob as a barb I have noticed that I get far more polearms and axes with Greater affixes than I ever do for a mace. probably 10 to 1. I think Diablo watches your videos and nerfs the drop chance of the items that we should be using.

Gold is still a massive issue in this game. I saw some online gold sellers complaining on Twitter about how reducing the cost of gold would hurt their business. However, Blizzard needs to understand that these people have made a living out of a bot that farms gold all day. How are they balancing the gold ecosystem around that? They need to either reduce the cost of gold or allow us to have 3 rerolls instead of 2.

I think the gold cost is close to being fine, they should just make the first roll free and lower the enchant cost by like 20-25% for extra rolls. The other option is to keep the cost the same but add a fourth roll result instead of three choices.

How about blizzard have sections for the reroll affixes Like Pool 1 (stats and resistance) Pool 2 (attack speed/crit/vulnerable) Pool 3 (+ skills) Half of the affixes are useless for majority of the builds So section them off so we can actually reroll the proper affix

The reason the robot pet is on the loading screen is because this is the odd season team and they are working off from much of the season 3 version of the game. That's why a lot of bugs from season 3 are popping back up, like the rouge victimize bug from season 3

Giving the world bosses more and more damage reduction over time is just silly. Make tormented versions so people who are leveling fresh toons/ casuals can actually down the boss without getting carried by a Barb. Then all of the people who have maxed builds arent 1 shotting the bosses, because they'll be doing tormented versions.

The costs are a big problem if you don't trade items for gold with other players. It is annoying having to go outside of the game to get gold. And even then it's still not that reliable, it's all RNG as to whether you find an item that's worth selling that you won't use or need. The best way to farm gold inside the game is doing whispers caches, and that's really tedious having to run all over the place, go to the Whisper tree, then go back and repeat the cycle endlessly. The Pit drops like 228k gold for tier 101, that's nothing, the amount of items dropped in dungeons was heavily reduced, there really isn't any good gold farming method that isn't annoying or time consuming to do. I've managed to sell a few items and now I have 450m gold, but before this, when I'm building a character yeah, it does cost a shitload of gold. I spent 250m gold on a ring just trying to get chance to make enemies vulnerable roll on it one time, thats absurd. And it costs so much gold that min-maxing that affix is out of the question.

I think as you roll affixes you should be able to block 1 of the affixes from rolling. So after 5 rolls you would have 5 blocked and you can continue to block affixes till there is only 6 or 8 left. Something like that. What do you think? So you could get lucky and get it soon, but with this method at some point you would for sure get the affix you want.

Disagree on the gold part, the amount of gold i had pre trading vs post trading has a difference of about 10x, there shouldnt be this huge of a difference if someone wants to play SSF, the cost for enchament rerolles need to be reduced as it doesnt make sense to lose that much money on just one aspect of gearing, and its not like you can sell re rolled affixes either, the cost increase needs to be cut in half

The game needs more work with how affixes go, and the lack of gold for players is a problem. I get it. In the meantime (especially for those spending hundreds of millions of gold), try to find items with the really rare affixes (such as envenom or hellbent) rather than rerolling 30x for it. It becomes foolishness later rerolling for 7 million gold. Try to be smart with your gold. Unless you are pushing really high content, chances are you can wait or you don’t absolutely need it. Some guys reroll couple hundred million gold in a minute and complain they need more gold. Perhaps, but just be smart with your gold for now and try farming them. It’s much more rewarding and cheaper that way.

3milion gold of one enchant attempt is a lot....for many players who are not interested in trading. One item almost perfect roll can cost sometimes about 50milion golds, without any problems. Second issue is Angel...

Gold price in enchanting isnt the issue, the weighted system AND the fact you only get 2 choices, make it 3 choices. To test I had a neck piece that was GA Crit chance, max CDR.. so I rolled 3rd for heavy handed, I knew it would be tough but it took me 2,2 BILLION gold to see my first HH roll of +1... it took 3.6 BILLION to finally get +2 heavy handed thats over 760 clicks.

The inflation you keep mentioning is primarily a result of a third-party trade system and botting/RMT, not the result of a lack of a gold sink in the game. Re-rolling and master working by themselves are significant gold sinks if you don't engage with the third party trade website. Blizzard should absolutely NOT be adjusting/balancing the game to solve problems introduced by a third-party trade websites and RMT.

Gold is still a Huge problem as a SSF. If you just farm by yourself you make about 10 mil/hr which translites to 2 Reroll trys. If you need 170mil to roll something means you have to farm 17 hours of gold for just 1 stat on 1 item. For ppl like me that just play 1-2 Hour per day you can calculate how much time you need for just 1 affix. PS: I spent all my 2 Billion on PTR from the last few seasons and couldn't roll Devouring Blaze on an Amulet. PPS: The Sorc example you showed was bugged with new helmet where it double-dips 11 times in a row (and does less damage with each new CL you add^^) The Rogue is also bugged in that they execute not only trashmobs but also Elites.

They could increase the cost but lower the number of possible stats but right now, this hard core casual is bleeding gold trying to get a few stats with an obscene number of rolls. And fuck off Bliz if I’m to get gold by trading. I want to play the god damn game, not be a salesman.
