Our Dad passed in September 2015. He was my longest life-friend. I've been missing him (and our Mom/2008) very much through this intense time of transition after being his primary care giver since 2008. On January 17, 2016 while traveling along on my way home from a friend's funeral, I was deeply missing Dad's company and conversation on our many drives together. That's when I decided to treat myself to a 'comfort' excursion and pulled off my travel to a little country store browsing and dinner. I'd never heard this song before until it played over the speakers while browsing that little store. Of course, I started crying - in gratitude. My name is Elizabeth... and I know with all my being, this was from Dad and Mom (she loved and used to play traditional country songs). Somehow, these moments just work like that and, personally, I believe in something greater than ourselves that creates these special moments for us. Dad used to email electronic greeting cards all the time with added notes of love and gratitude. I got the distinct feeling, he found a different way to get the message across. Good one, Dad, as usual. Love you both, always.

Harold Reid, who sang bass for the Grammy-winning country group the Statler Brothers, died on Friday, April 24th, 2002 after a long battle with kidney failure. He was 80 years old... Between 1965 and 1990 the Staunton, Virginia group had sixty six records on the Billboard Country charts, thirty three made the Top 10 with four reaching #1, "Do You Know You Are My Sunshine" for two weeks in May 1978, "Elizabeth" for one week in March for 1984, "My Only Love" for one week in March of 1984, and "Too Much On My Heart" for one week in November of 1985... Founding member Lewis Calvin DeWitt passed away at the young age of 52 on August 15th, 1990 {Crohn's disease}... May both Mr. Reid and Mr. DeWitt R.I.P. * They just missing having three more #1 records when their "Flowers On The Wall" for four weeks in 1966, "Do You Remember These" for four weeks in 1972, and "Oh Baby Mine (I Get So Lonely)" for one week in 1983, all peaked at #2...
