I was just buying that Coda preamp at this particular moment and I've just found this video! Thank you so much, aunt Tammy!

Coda every time. On every aspect. In fact… I’m going to order one 😊thanks. I think that the matching colour and form looks great. I use an SM7B, with the extens arm. And an audient id4. This will go well

I can hear quite a bit of ringing resonance, is that from the mic arm the podmic, or some background noise getting past a noise gate?

I use the fethead plugged directly into the mic also. It’s a bit more noticeable but it’s also a bit smaller. There can be a slight advantage plugging the fethead into the mic. If the cable has any noise on it then the preamp is going to amplify the noise also. When Bark did his mic mod build it was $39 but they were our so I couldn’t get one then. I still think that mod he did was fabulous. The purring was great. I used to have a kitten that would curl up in my beard and purr us both to sleep. 😃 Have a great day and be safe out there!

I’ll have to try that. Thanks👍

I thought the FetHead was brighter, maybe because it wasn’t a blind test and I am prejudiced. Good video.

Thanks Gary. So strange I had to do the video a bunch of times because every time something failed. I think it was GarageBand but in my initial testing the fethead was definitely a touch “cleaner” if that makes sense.

i use a cloud lifter which is an outrageous price compared to these two, i think the cloud lifter only boosts somewhere between 20-25 db Gain if im not mistaken, so any one of these options at the below $100 price point seems pretty nice, but at $40 i would of jumped on the Coda and bought 2 right away before i changed my mind, I totally get what you mean by wanting to match products for production purposes, i will probably buy one more Cloud Lifter if i get a PodMic or another SM7B, i wonder how the coda stacks up to the Cloud Lifter 👀

does coda change the sound a little or is mine broken because i find it very hard to eq and work with vocals recorded with it but when i use sm7b alone by itself it seem easier to work with
