Why is this not more popular????? I don’t understand how Chris Stapleton is such a world renowned voice yet The Steel Drivers go unnoticed????????

Mainly because “country music radio” focuses more on what’s popular, hence why chris went solo.

It's all about the money and who got a contract, who was marketable. It's the industry and who they can make money from. Steeldrivers are relatively well known and did well for themselves in a real successful way. Chris has a really special voice that is one of a kind and he made some good choices with his career.

Not Country it's Bluegrass. There is a difference. Ky. Hillbilly here. Heard Bluegrass winding down the hollar drifting through the tree's, skipping over the creek many times. Bluegrass came from the hills and mountains of Ky. Scotts, English, Irish sound incorporated the banjo from the South with a mournful solitairy sound. The hardships of the hills is what makes it personal to those who get it. ✌️☯️🎶

I am so glad that Chris Stapleton is finally in the Spotlight. I love this Blues Grass Project, SteelDrivers and especially this song. I live a couple of miles from the Mississippi River and go over to Natchez quite a bit. Nothing like driving up and down those hills and roads where History was made. From the Natchez Indians, French, Spanish, English and everything in between. This song sums it up perfectly.

Heard this song on You Tube while viewing forgotten Southern Mansions, so appropriate, this music is poetic and instrumentally beautiful, so much so it breaks your heart to think of the losses of a former time in history. Bought the CD---Great Value !

This isnt southern. its appalachia, its mountain music. the region stretches as far as the deep south but its completely different than the lowcountry and appalachia reaches up through pennsylvania coal and steel country. glad i call the alleghany mountains home.

I posted this comment on another song by the SteelDrivers but it applies even more so on this song... "Many bluegrass bands should stick to instrumentals, others should stick to their stills. SteelDrivers aren't in either of those classes. Quality instrumentals, strong vocals and lyrics that come from the roots of bluegrass. Great stuff all the way through." I better be careful though as I could post this on quite a few of their songs.

Exactly it's basically the idea that you could have many layers to it but the main aspect or reality of it is there is nothing more because you can't sell your soul so you wake up believing that s*** that would have been cooler would have been nice and I mean it was just a drunken nightmare
