I have been watching you for months now and I really like your videos! So much that I ordered a snack box Micro for myself! I was always the only one out of my friends that played fighting games (since 92/93 I was 4/5 wasting money on arcades because that was what everyone was doing back then) first game ever was street fighter 2 and later kof! I haven’t played fighting games for almost 15 years now. But when I found your channel it gave me an itch. And now a days people can connect through the internet. What's nice is the hitbox comes with it's own bag, and it's actually pretty slim tbh. I personally want something a little sturdier cause i have rowdy dogs in the house. This controller seems fantastic tho. Perfect thing to toss in your bag and go to a friends house with.

wow just ordered, super excited to get my hands on one of these. i love how small it is, and i’ve wanted to try the button style hitbox. it seems like it feels similar to a keyboard having your fingers on asd and your thumb on space. excited to try one out finally because i don’t feel comfortable with the arcade sticks. overall, nice video 🙌🏽

I got mine! It’s my first all button box and I love it to death! The learning curve isn’t that hard but there IS a learning curve don’t expect to be doing 50% damage combos out the box lol it’s definitely going to be my main controller for fighting games. Can’t wait to try it on strive!

`I love this controller. This was my first button box controller. I got this controller out of a whim, but it does everything I could ever want. the ONLY gripe I have with the controller is those top bottoms. I wanted to learn Killer Instinct and I honestly dropped it just because you have to press start and share together but pressing those buttons together is a pain and a bit inconsistent sometimes. I know they are actually going to change those buttons, so that's great. Other than that gripe I say this controller a great controller if you're in the market as it is more than just a gimmick.

I just got to test out the micro and I have to say it is now my stickless controller of choice. I have the OG hitbox, and I think it is great, but It is really only ergonomic if you can play with your hands suspended over the buttons. I have always needed to rest my wrists, and that feels like it has definitely done some damage over extended use with the height of the OG Hitbox. As you mentioned in this review, because this controller is so low profile, I can comfortably rest my wrists on my legs and play on this controller without discomfort. I'd definitely recommend this to people looking for a stickless controller simply for that reason alone. If you have no problem playing with your hands elevated than the OG Hitbox is still a great choice, but I'll almost certainly be selling mine now.

20 years ago when I discovered mame on pc, I didn’t have a controller so I learned to play street fighter ii with the keyboard (and pretty well as well). Everyone thought I was mad. 20 years later, turns out I was just ahead of the curve! This thing is wicked!

I've been wanting to learn hitbox for a while now, this one looks really nice. The only thing bothering me is those tiny little buttons. Like he mentioned, going to take a toll on your finger if you reset in training mode over and over.

Concave / Convex buttons really is a matter of perspective and your age. When I was playing fighting games back in the day (Street Fighter 2 days) all the arcade buttons on cabinets in the USA were concave. Convex buttons is a Japanese thing. It doesn't make a huge difference.

I’m Switching from pad and I almost bought this, but ended up just going with hitbox cause of the ability to customize it if I wanted too. I still plan eventually buying the Micro down the road though cause it’s easy to travel with and how much of a beating it can take. I would of bought both If I could, but I just couldn’t justify dropping $400 on controllers all at once lol

Great video! Junkfood will have injection molded buttons in soon. The new buttons replace all of the option buttons as well so they will feel nicer to press the little ones on top. They are all being made in PBT so it will also lower the sound profile a bit like on keyboard keycaps and the best part they will have a color options!

Do you or anyone else know if the DP input trick (16:46) works in games other than SFV? Games seem to vary wildly in how strict they are with DP inputs so I wonder if that input would work universally or you'd need to learn a different way of inputting it for different games.

agree with all your points honestly, this controller is genuinely a godsend like to be completely fair i havent had any other arcade controllers but ive got really bad arthritis and whatnot that's really kinda stopped me from playing fighting games for a good while because of playing on pad usually making it worse yada yada ya anyways the snack box micro has just helped out so much plus it accommodates for all the weird positions i have to sit in like you showed off there (like i know you were joking around but i do pretty much all of the ones you did barring "i wish i were a pad player" lmao) also it's so thin that i can keep playing even when my cat decides he's gotta sit on my hands so thats always a bonus

@@AProblemOfficer im not much of a hitbox player but I have tried it more than once. The immediate pros of buttonboxes are the ability for precise inputs, simultaneous directional inputs, and simpler directional inputs. I haven't experienced anything negative to be considered a con for buttonbox controllers but I've only tried them for a little less than a month. I do have to say though, that the prices are a bit too high for what they are worth. The controller showcased in the vid is about $200 not including tax, but it has customization options. They still last long but I wouldn't want to spend that type of money

I'm thinking about getting leverless because I have a ton of trouble finding a combination of the perfect dpad and the perfect buttons on the same controller. I'm a big keyboard nerd and love looking at and testing different switches but didn't even know that was something you could do with leverless. Also sometimes my motion inputs fail to come out more than I'd like so having buttons might fix that for me Also someone who actually likes Them's Fightin Herds lol. I'm definitely not the demographic for that game but it's such a damn great fighter that a lot of people are missing out on. Also the fact it runs on the Skullgirls engine and has some of the best netcode helps a ton.

It being my first personal hitbox, I'm absolutely loving mine. Everything feels great to me, even the buttons. Well maybe the top buttons get kinda painful, but they work and can't be accidentally pressed, so thats what matters. Tbh the LEDs were what made the sale for me lol. Its just so awesome. Personally, id want the directions and the attack buttons to be a bit more seperated on hitboxes in general, but its still fine. Awesome hitbox
