Amor Fati is the Stoic practice of learning to love fate. Stoicism has a huge amount of value when it comes to practical philosophy that can be applied to everyday life, and Amor Fati is exactly that.

To the *worthwhile person* seeing this, your dream is not dead. Don’t allow the past and current pains and hurts stop and define you. You’re more than a conqueror. Rise up and put yourself together. Keep pushing your future depends on it. I wish you all the best in life ❤️.

Orion Philosophy, thank you for your amazing videos. For a long time I was stuck watching predatory "self-help" videos on KZbin, and then I found this channel. Simply discussing and presenting different points of view really helps to give people perspective. Thank you for not glorifying "the hustle", and killing yourself for the sake of unachievable goals. Your channel has really given me peace of mind.

Hey man, no worries. I'm glad it helps, unfortunately there's a lot of "self-help" that doesn't help all that much so I'm happy you found some value here 👍

drawing on all the stories about Fate, i always found it to be “what will occur if you do not fundamentally change yourself”. All the lessons involving fate involve people self-fulfilling it by behaving the same way they always have.

There is this (Sufi?) tale about a disciple who knew that his master was going to meet the Angel of Death in the city where they were, Baghdad. So he went to Samarkand. When the master was talking to the Angel of Death, he asked where that disciple was, and the master replied, "Baghdad". "Strange," said the Angel, "I have an appointment with him in Samarkand..."

Exactly! They might be superficially similar but Nietzsche’s philosophy of life-affirmation is incompatible with stoicism. (At least in my opinion, I’m no expert)

FATE is when you can accept the Future Around The Earth....you have to be able to accept all possibilities. Let go of the pains and suffering from the past just accept it. Let go of those people that you care for that have left just accept it. Accept you created your perceptions and you can change it for the better. Neglecting negativity can't change the past but accepting it can help the present.

Stoics teach us grit, perseverance and calluses on our emotions, not eliminating them but domesticating them. The teachings of Epictetus, Pythagorus, Marcus aurelius and others show many good principles and virtuous, but they lack the teachings of money, equity and how to traverse movement, many stoics opted for contempt which is needed but not as a whole, to manage your time, like the japanese principles and fundamentals of Ekigai shows us, you have to be paid well for what your purpose is, as everything must be running fluently, and in tandem. Stoics lack these teachings. Money isn’t the most important thing in life, but it’s reasonably close to oxygen on the ‘gotta have it’ scale - Zig ziglar David shows us that with money at your side, your righteous ways can continue... Psalms 112:3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever. And so does Solomon say with money their is righteousness in sternness... Proverbs 8:18 Riches and honor are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. Proverbs 13:7 There is that maketh himself rich, yet hath nothing: there is that maketh himself poor, yet hath great riches. Proverbs 13:8 The ransom of a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth not rebuke. Ecclesiastes 7:12 For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it. Proverbs 14:24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly. Jesus the master story teller, tells us about the parables of the talents in which one should always make your money work, double up on your money and never squander it. Matthew 25:15-30 Paul showed similar teachings of following Moses laws of tithing, by saving 1/10th of your money as a principal of faith... Working week to week put aside a sum of your money and saving up so you are dependent on no one. Don't forget that money talks and bullshit walks, so it is true that having a good set of principles and virtuous on how to treat others and even yourself, but don't forget these are only one part of the whole, you also have to learn how to budget money, assets and equity's. Other wise your virtuous will be good for nothing if you are both in the wrong environment or not being able to move forward because of lack of money. Keep going brethren's.

I think people often see material wealth as an instant path to a life fee of suffering and difficulty. You're right that Marcus Aurelius was a wealthy and powerful man, but reading his Meditations it's quite clear to see that he struggled with life. It may not have been the struggles of hunger or disease, but the stresses of leading a country through war, famine or plague come with their own hardship. Wealth itself is not enough to deny people empathy for their suffering. Unfortunately these days a lot of people see wealthy people that way, but just looking at Hollywood or the suicide rates in high stress financial jobs shows how wealthy people suffer. I dont think using their wealth to deny them empathy is a mature thing to do.

Sometimes, I can't help the feeling that I'm Living a life of illusion And oh, why can't we let it be And see through the hole in this wall of confusion I just can't help the feeling, I'm living a life of illusion Pow! Right between the eyes Oh, how nature loves her little surprises Wow, it all seems so logical now It's just one of her better disguises And it comes with no warning, nature loves her little surprises Continual crisis Hey, don't you know it's a waste of your day Caught up in endless solutions That have no meaning Just another hunch Based upon jumping conclusions Caught up in endless solutions Backed up against a wall of confusion Living a life of illusion
