Superb again. Here in the UK in 1991, Rubb It In was an anthem in the UK, because of Vicks Vapour Rub. Which is a kind of minty cream you use to rub on your chest when you have a flu. In the XTC days we used to put this cream onto our eye lids, cheeks and top lip :) Hence "Rubb It In" :) [Rub the Vicks into your face] :)

This track "Rubb It In" is the way techno sounded when I first started DJing in the very early 90's, along with tracks from producers like Prodigy, Bizzare Inc, Moby, etc. Fierce Ruling Diva was a very influential producer back then. I'll never forget the way this underground rave music first sounded, it was glorious. Thanks so much for arranging this interview!

Yo Twan, thanks for this amazing interview (as always). Being 44 years old, this man is one of the Dutch dance music icons. With the House Party 1 mix cd, I heard "Fierce Ruling Diva - Rubb It In" for the first time and then also on Move the House 3. Of course, what he started with the Party Animals, his influence is massive to the Dutch dance / hardcore scene. Thanks and probs to him doing this interview.

So Twan! I LOVE the things You do with the intrviews of imho legends when it comes to edm theese days. One of my greatest questions is based on th fact that most of theese "guys" were schooled in a classical form of music schoole. One was a drummer, another was a guitarist etc. Eventually they all "clashed" with the digital world. And now here is my Q. Also one that id like You to bring up futurewise interwievs if possible. How big of an impact would they say the digital world brought upon them and how do they see in the fact that Ai comming up, and what they think of it. Best regards

I would love that, but unfortunately I don’t have a travel budget for these interviews…. So I can only do interviews with people who live nearby (I’m based in the south of the Netherlands), or with people who visit The Netherlands for gigs or so.
