My recent obsession is girls who refute Amish and Mormon religions. It warms my heart when they see the light! When all of them come to realize they are in complete control of their own destinies. I know it is a shock when you yourself are responsible to what ever happens to you.

Depression is high in the Amish community. I had a friend who worked as a receptionist at a shrink near a couple of Amish sects who said over half the doctor's patients were Amish. Many on meds

You guys must have caught me just right. This video was so compelling that I couldn't stop watching. The three of you made a round-table that our so-called news monsters should follow as a guide, and we all know that that isn't going to happen in our lifetimes. Dina! Thank you so much for visiting with Josh and Sarah and explaining about your background within the Amish community! I would love to see more of this kind of programing. Love you guys. Thank you, all. 😀

This is an excellent interview with Dena. There is much that could be good about the Amish lifestyle, but it is overshadowed by darkness and depression. If every Amish person who is having problems with their beliefs would read the Bible for themselves, this religion of arbitrary rules would go away. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast. Read Ephesians 2

I heard a phrase recently buy a woman who had left the Mormon church. Until recently, I would say that the Mormons believed that they do not shun. She coined the phrase called ‘silent shunning’. And it hit me so hard, because that is what I have experienced. It’s not preached across the pulpit directly, but it is there. So whether or not, you are actively shunned… By simply leaving the culture of a religion, the people who cannot accept what you have chosen to do, may ‘silently shun’.

Why don’t any Amish people who have left actually talk about the LORD JESUS CHRIST and the Gospel and tell people not about all the rules but the Truth about Jesus Christ
@tnctnc5972

your asking why they don't go back and tell people about Jesus?? They would tell you not to come home if your not very careful then u have no chance ever telling them so our hope is to live it and little by little bringing Jesus in !

I live in Lancaster P.A. and have more amish neighbors than anyone. Amish mafia was filmed very close to me, and that show was so set up and fake. I worked for an amish roofer who had a phone booth in the yard. He was allowed to have electric in the barn but not his house, so he ran an air compressor in the barn and ran air pressue inside his house to run his clothes washer and dryer. He was abit different because they allowed him to divorce his wife because she became drug addict on cocaine. The amish live alot different than most people think. Not bad people, just different.

I am also subscribed to “Montana Haven” and “Chloe Avalon” that are great channels. Their Amish lives are total different. They live devoted Christian lives. I am so sorry that the Amish part of your life that you have experienced was so difficult.

Conscientious objector The movie ‘Sgt York’ is based on the true story of Sgt York and how he wasnt going to fight in WW1 due to this… Alvin Cullum York, also known by his rank as Sergeant York, was an American soldier who was one of the most decorated United States Army soldiers of World War I
