So as I'm typing this, its been about 6 months since this video has been made, and it is now in my top most viewed videos, and it constantly pops up in my "Most watched in the past 48 hours" as well, so people are still finding this and watching it, and I believe its time I make a statement on this. I did this video on Chibi because there wasn't really a nice compact video on his story, that's what I usually aim for, stories that haven't been told a thousand times. I did genuinely feel bad for him and his family getting doxxed and sent pizzas, while they argue on stream, I DESPISED the way he talked to his mother though. I knew about the fundraiser and the funeral, and you know I HAD to mention that funeral due to its infamy. (That fundraiser hijack is funny to me still, fight me) But the issue is, I tried to tow this line between being funny and being sympathetic, and it just didn't land for a lot of people. I am 100% hamming it up during that funeral scene to try and be haha funny, if you find it in bad taste I don't blame you. I still get comments all the time accusing me of picking on him and siding with the trolls (Some people legit accused me of being the guy who called his mom in the video) And as multiple comments have pointed out, I left out a very important piece of info: Chibi has a history of being a sex pest. The only thing I knew about before making this vid was him being 19 and sending nudes to a 17 year old. However, weeks after I made this video, he got kicked from a convention for trying to solicit nudes from a girl, and then I started seeing people bring up his past crimes of that, only then did I learn of the laundry list of times he acted like that (Some of them are ALLEGED to be underage too). I had no clue about any of this until after the fact, if I had the ability to go back in time and include that in the video I 100% would. That was a huge research failure on my part. Basically, I did my job with the sympathetic angle too well, now this video sort of exists in this weird limbo where I got hundreds of thousands to see the crap this man went through, but at the same time didn't really mention any of the bad stuff he did so people get this idea that he only cheated at a speedrun and nothing else, that alone lead to years of harassment, and therefore I'm making fun of him for that. The sex pest stuff was also a factor in the trolling, and no, being a sex pest does not make doxxing him and his mother suddenly ok. I just didn't like the way he treated her on stream, so that was sort of the thing that pushed me into the angle I went for. TL; DR This video is very flawed and needed a lot of work. It was the first time I made a video like this so I guess its to be expected. This is pure cope I know.

I felt like something was missing from this video when the sex pest stuff wasint mentioned! haha. It would have made a stark change of tone in the video though. But a good chunk of his downfall did involve with him being a huge pest. Overall I still enjoyed the video, even with some of its flaws.

I'm sorry, but the dude at 1:53 whose parents rained praise and admiration over him for beating the world speedrun record for Mario 64 like he fucking cured cancer was the most wholesome thing I've ever seen. I don't think there is without further context. If his parents support him overall and help him throughout his life, then that's amazing. But by itself, that kind of reaction to an achievement which ultimately is meaningless except in certain circles of the internet is definitely a little pathetic.

I myself would give up so much in order to have something simillar to what he has, I'm an extremely lonely person and the few people around me doesn't understand me and I don't understand them, the idea of someone hugging me after I've done something meaningless to most but meaningful to me sounds like a dream to me.

I didn't get the reference because I'm not a freaking weeb but I did understand because it was taking about trolling his stream with gay porn and the image of sexual degeneracy in the characters glasses that they must be a deviant pervert hence the joke that they would enjoy it thoroughly. You people watching cartoon pornography are seriously unhealthy and really need to stop, no joke. Anime conventions are the saddest most pathetic collection of mind warped individuals that I have ever seen in my entire life, and believe me I've attended multiple not because I love anime because I don't even watch any, I just love social atmospheres where there's tons of people having fun and there is some really good cosplay that happens like the people in giant space Marines armor suits and all that and I enjoy doing it myself though it's always been the character hunk from resident evil. The cosplay gets cringe though when people take being in character way too far and it honestly gets embarrassing, and I know it's mainly autistic people with no self awareness because the normal self aware people never get cringe with it and are very easy to take photos with without feeling weird about it, like the photos I got with this girl dressed up like one of the chainsaw sisters posing as if she was cutting my head off with her chainsaw prop, or the girls dressed up like pokemon that I took pictures of pretending to capture them with a plushie pokeball I brought just for that purpose, some guys as well like this dude in a gengar costume. All in all, you need to stop seriously destroying your mind with the pornography it's so insanely bad for you it's terrible.

Caveman did nothing wrong honestly, when you have someone like Chibi who struggles to understand non-verbal communication eventually you have to say what you need to say to them directly. Since Chibi is obviously disabled (or at least "different") it would have been the more mature thing to just ignore him maybe, but he was actively being annoying and attention-seeking. Lots of people say that Caveman should have been nicer, but I can imagine that it would infuriating to come all the way to this event to demonstrate something you're passionate about, and whose mans is this materialises out of nowhere and interrupts you constantly.

The only reason he and his (recently widowed mother, remember) had to put up with harrassment, is because he's the please stay quiet kid. And this is way worse when you remember he's actually autistic, which itself makes it obvious why he would be awkward, or not really understand social cues. This is just thinly veiled ableism and no amount of reddit logic can convince me otherwise. People just spotted an easy target and were horrible to him because they were hidden behind anonimity.

The Chibi story really is a bummer. I knew about him way way back in the day, like in 2010. He was just your basic casual Let's Player back then. I stopped watching him after a bit when other big KZbinrs started hitting the scene, totally unaware of him breaking into speedrunning and causing a lot of controversies over time. I was shocked years later when I would see Pewdiepie react to his cringe GDQ moment and then learn he was more or less exiled from the speedrunning community for cheating and generally being unpleasant.

Yes, the case of Chibi is sad, but I’d concur from just the fact that later along the line, he improved and became self aware of his old shenanigans and want to improve from it. Also just the fact that despite how many curve balls life threw at him, he still kept going, and as someone on the spectrum that goes through that exact thing in life, that’s admirable. I can tip my hat to that. Most cases of gaming streamers like for example Wings Of Redemption all end on a horribly sad note where they either never change at all or change for the worse.

As someone who's like Chibi in the couch situation, I would be extremely embarrassed myself. I tend to talk a lot and sometimes, I have trouble being told to be quiet and people can be that harsh to me. I've been told to shut up and stop talking because I was annoying. I also didn't understand if someone liked me as a friend because I thought "They aren't completely telling me 'no', so I can keep talking, right?" Telling me outright to be quiet in a rude tone just embarrass me and the person who told me to be quiet. It's much better and polite to saying something like "Hey, I'm trying to focus on the game and as much as I'm fine with you talking, I need you to be quiet for now, okay? You can talk when I give you the cue to." Instead. It's at least less mean and more polite. I feel like Chibi isn't at complete fault for that but I do have a bit more social awareness than he does, if i'm honest. Plus, I imagined myself in his shoes and cringed. I would absolutely hate to be humiliated like that along with the people around me!

While it may be “rude” to tell someone to shut up, it’s also rude to keep talking just because no one tells you to stop. By the time you have to ask someone to stop talking, you’re going to be beyond annoyed. 99% of people don’t need to be told to stop talking so it’s frustrating to come across someone who does. I guess all I’m saying is it goes both ways… Some people just need to work on their self awareness. Also, the people who need to be told to stop talking typically don’t pick up on polite hints. By the time someone tells you to shut up, they’d probably already given you tons of hints you just didn’t pick up. Sometimes you have to be direct.

The main reason (unfortunately) is that chibo doesn't have the social skills to Garner a large crowd into respecting him, while dream does. Chibo by technically didn't do anything worse than dream, but he was unable to play into it enough to make it lighthearted partially due to having autism. which makes it hard to change or understand the context of things. Like the fact that he is generally awkward and doesn't have much of a persona when speedrunning vs dream who is "cool" makes people judge him more for small mistakes. Like he couldve made his next ttyd run more funny by being sarcastic and going "oh look guys, I'm going to do the double jump glitch again" and laugh about it, and people would eventually get over it for example.

One of the best comments I've seen on that horrific embarrassing clip was something along the lines of "Shout out to the two tombstones on either side of the couch for being absolutely silent for the whole run." People seem to not remember nowadays that Chibi was someone CavemanDCJ never met, Caveman never asked for him to be there, and never even played the game. The couch is meant for people to co-commentate and otherwise be helpful to the speedrunner. But you have this guy who joins the crowded couch, talks nonstop, makes unfunny jokes, and takes the attention away from Caveman's run (you know, something he had to prepare for and work towards for a long time). There is a reason why people tended to take Caveman's side online early on, but nowadays, it seems like people who don't have the full context or understanding start taking Chibi's side. Being cringe where you aren't even supposed to be and taking attention away from the guy who worked hard to be there is not something to defend. You covered it pretty well.
